Great to have the Boss on board! Apparently a fair few premier league clubs were sniffing around. Nicola: you've done it again!!
How astute was that move? It was noticeable on Tuesday that when doing his usual post match walk around applauding the crowd that he looked more emotional than usual, he knew he belonged then.
A nice rousing rendition of the Dutch national anthem will put everyone in a good mood on the team bus I'm sure!
At least they gave him one game. There were quite a few Saints fans on Twitter slating him the moment he was signed, just because he wasn't getting a game at Celtic.
That was just embarressing, the day we got him on loan it seemed like we were getting Alan Bennett back.
Like all things people say what they have heard or know at the time. It has to be said for what ever reason he did not fit in with the Celtic system. A lot down South do not rate Celtic particularly highly. Saying their standard of play was perhaps no better than a lower league premier or highly placed Championship team. As a consequence because he was at least third choice up there it would seem and perhaps not even that. Some felt it was a poor choice. The lesson to be learned perhaps is to have a tad more faith in our management team and to not be so judgemental until someone has played maybe 5/6 games. I think then you can have a reasonable knowledge of what a player is like. Good signing in my book.....
I've just let them know on the Celtic forum. We'll see how bothered they are later, because I understand many believed he should have returned.
Great news because he's already settled in here and suits us..last thing we wanted was to try to break a new CB in at this stage. I know Fonte said that Jos covered for him when he had a spell playing with a niggling injury.
Happy about this. I think he's an excellent signing for us. Comfortable on the ball, and already well established as being an integral part of our success so far.
