Just had a week in Skiathos, our first visit to Greece, Loved it. Only downside is that we flew from Leeds Bradford so had to endure a plane full of small old fat bald blokes in shorts, because they have a LUFC tatoo on their legs on the plane there and back, even greeting each other with a verse of 'Marching Altogether'. Managed to avoid them all week though, in fact never saw another football shirt anywhere. Most bizare football connection was seeing a Newcastle Utd fan with a tatoo of Peter Beardsley on one leg and Alan Shearer ( with hair), who looked more like Larry Grayson on the other.
Beautiful town, lovely friendly people too, no yobo's. no time share touts and no lucky lucky men. One young German girl thought I was a footballer, which was nice and another ' From Northern Germany' tapped me on the shoulder and said 'I think your accent is wonderful, where are you from?'
Even the Mamma Mia chapel was worth the £80 boat trip, and I've never seen the film so it mean nothing to me beforehand.

Just returned from a Norwegian cruise on MSC Virtuosa.
It was our first time cruising and overall, a little disappointed.
The ship was magnificent and very clean. Waking up to a different view while cruising down a fjord was an amazing experience. I was getting up at first light, and going on deck to take it all in. Unless you’ve actually been in the fjords you probably don’t realise some of the destinations are 100 miles inland). One examples is Flaam, which is beautiful. It has a population of 350. And yet Hull seems to be finding technical problems in accommodating cruise ships.
The worst part was that the ship was just too busy, with 6000 people. The first couple of nights felt really chaotic. Things did calm down, but service was often slow and there were just not enough seats. A couple of nights, we visited every bar on the ship and couldn’t find anywhere to sit down, so actually ended up back in our cabin. It seems the ship is designed for warmer climes, where everyone can spread out onto the bars on the deck.
Surrounded by so many people, I learnt what the phrase ‘being entitled’ actually means. I just think we have become so selfish. Some people are incredibly rude and we witnessed several examples of awful behaviour towards staff. The service was sometimes not great, but it was pretty clear that it was more a lack of staff rather than individuals.
We’ve come to the conclusion that cruising is probably not for us.
We are going on an msc cruise next month, first time we will have done a cruise... Must admit I'm not really looking forward to it..... Give me lanzarote anytime

Leeds is a bloody awful airport isn’t it
I hate that road to get to it too

UK airports I have flown out of/in to are Heathrow, Gatwick, Stanstead, East Midlands, Liverpool, Manchester and Glasgow. Some were 20-30 years ago though.

Most are.
Give me a smaller one any day of the week. Leeds, Newcastle, East Midlands.
Hopefully Doncaster Robin Hood Sheffield South Yorkshire Airport reopens soon. Crazy that it was allowed to close in the first place. I'll go out of my way to choose it when it does reopen.

Just booked 2 weeks in mull of kintyre...could have gone to Spain for half the price....fooking Scottish wife
****ing Hell!!! Are you sure she's not trying to get rid of you...It's a real shame that York changed it's laws on killing Scots carrying bows and arrows, you could've took her down for a 'Robin Hood fancy dress' weekend:emoticon-0110-tongu(I'm actually taking mine to York in July for our aniversary)

I'm just glad I married one that likes a bit of sun on her back and doesn't fancy getting eaten alive by midges...

I am currently in Malaga airport waiting to board a flight to East Midlands (originally booked from Donny) . It’s absolutely lashing down with thunder and lightning thrown in for good measure.
The planes are not taking off and are been pushed back with more and more people are been filtered
Through to the gates . It’s getting chaotic noisy and very claustrophobic What a lovely way to round off a very enjoyable relaxing week .

G, I did my first cruise with the daughter after the wife passed last May and it was fantastic. Must admit I didn't think I would do but we had a great time. We went with Marella and to me it was like been in a all inclusive hotel, choosing from around 10 bars/ restaurants, having a good drink then waking up in a different port. I know it's not for everyone but we have booked again for July to North America. Have a great time pal.

Currently in Dalyan, Turkey. Never been to a friendlier place in my life. At a market yesterday wearing my City baseball cap and a local teenage lad saw it and said Hull City! Acun! Fenerbahce! then held up his hand for a fist bump. Then was browsing a massive stall with knock off football shirts. Guy asks if I want a Messi shirt, wife laughs and says No, Hull City. He then brings out the current black away shirt in varying sizes!

Skiiathos is lovely did you go to the road with the lights where the runway begins it’s scary , the tyre skid marks of the plane are only about 2 hundred yards from it!! we had a hotel where they did rooftop breakfast and you were near level with the lanes coming down the bay , great spot - some great beaches I’d you use the boat taxis , Cuccunaris is awesome

Must admit G I wondered if we would be sat in groups with others at meal times, everyone wearing posh clothes ect but it really was just like being in a good all inclusive with a massive choice of things to do during the day, plenty of choice at night and visiting lots of different places. At least your giving it a go and if it’s not for you then you won’t do it again. Let us know how you go on and don’t forget your City shirt.

That wasn't a Beardsley tattoo, it was a blister that had become heavily infected and scabbed over, easy mistake to make though. :emoticon-0125-mmm:
