We live overseas and my missus sent in hers for renewal to Durham 8 weeks ago, finally got notice she should have it back in 2 weeks. Totally unable to talk to an actual person (no doubt because they're all ****ing working from home - walking the dog, mowing the lawn, going to the supermarket for a couple of things, picking their arse) and every call was always caught in a phone loop. She was starting to get very nervous as it would **** up a lot of travel plans if it was much longer.

So did you do it whilst overseas? That was one reason I came back, just to renew the passport, because mine was coming close to 6 months expiry and then you have problems getting a visa

The main problem if you have to renew a passport while living abroad is having to send it to a processing center (which one depends on where you are) it can be hard to live in some countries without your passport. Not a problem if you have dual nationality.

As most know I returned to UK to see my family and also to renew my passport. I applied online and sent off my old passport 2 weeks ago, I got a message from the Passport office to say my application was accepted, now sent for printing and you should receive it within a few days, and that the delivery company would message me when that would be.

Yesterday, I got a purported text from TNT saying my passport was being delivered today, click on the link to see tracking. The wording of the text, apart from mentioning the passport, was similar to many texts I have received before, and I guess others have too, saying a package is being delivered etc. So, I didn't check the tracking. I stayed in all day, and no one came, and around 4.30 pm, got another text saying we tried to deliver your package but no one was home, please click on the link to arrange a re-delivery.

Clearly another scam, but these scammers seem to know now what actual package is being delivered, which is scary, as other unsuspecting people surely will think it is genuine, as they are expecting a specific delivery.

We fly to Turkey in two weeks on Thursday and my partner hasn't received her passport.

Not sure what to do?

Never been to the Lake District so we’re off next month, staying in a lodge overlooking Lake Windermere. Any pointers for things to see/do will be gratefully received <ok>
hire a motorboat and try and sink people in canoes by going flat out and turning last minute to create a big wash. its fun.

Yes we did, sent it by fedex. Just been told it's being printed. She didn't want to take the risk of trying to renew whilst in the UK as she was only going to be in Blighty for a couple of weeks, I'm staying a bit longer. She has another passport if neccessary but more hassle.

I’ve just got back yesterday from 3 weeks in Orlando with two days at Clearwater for my nieces wedding it was all great, apart from it being massively packed and now very expensive, now shagged out with jet lag.

I've just got my passport, it took just over 2 weeks to renew. Not bad as I was expecting longer. It appears it is a new passport that is taking much longer, but renewals if done online seem to be quite quick.
