Fuerteventura is our go-to within Europe. Been to Gran Caneria, Lanzarote and Tenerife, but for us Fuerte has a much more laid back vibe. Also quite like Minorca but not been for quite a few years now.

Spent quite a bit of time in the US over recent years; Seattle, San Fran, New York, Orlando, San Diego, Santa Monica. SoCal (San Diego/Santa Monica) probably the nicest, I'd move to either of those locations if I had the chance. San Fran was a proper dump.
Translated as the windy isle ... for good reason?

We generally go during the winter months and apparently the wind is worse during summer. Our eldest has their SATs this year so we've actually opted to go back in August for a change, so I'll report back then!

I wouldn't have thought it would be much windier, than Lanzarote, if it all, given their close proximity to one another.

We went in winter, for some winter sun. The strong, frequent, chilly winds spoiled it.
I think it makes a big difference what coast you are on (in Fuerteventura, and to a lesser degree in the other islands). We were on the southern edge of Costa Coleta. It was a couple of years ago, and the beach in the centre was a building site; hopefully the redevelopment work has now finished!

Get to Corrallejo on Fuerteventura . Yes it’s breezy great small town with loads of restaurants some good shopping for the MRs - flag beach is awesome , but not a bar in sight . Place has a couple of sports / Brits bars but that’s all . Some great (wind) surfer bars . Get a bus to el cotillo tiny place with lagoons but a great windy surfers beach - too tough for swimmers .

We generally go to Costa Caleta. Not been for a few years what with COVID. I think we missed them re-doing the beach, apparently all the new sand was dredged from the bottom of the Ocean and it was a bit of a clusterfuck, so they had to re-do it all again. Pretty sure I remember seeing a picture of them losing a JCB to the tide... They renovated the beach front and harbour again last year so we're looking forward to seeing what that's like.

All these people flying and destroying the planet. Don’t they realise only the Markles, Sting, Bono, King Charles, Emma Thompson and others should do that hopping on a private plane, helicopter or long distance flight, after lecturing everyone else on how they shouldn’t?

We are doing a Norwegian fjords cruise in May. It’s not something we’ve considered before but Mrs A is currently struggling with her mobility, so seemed a good option. Any experienced cruisers on here?

Returned to old Blighty early Saturday morning
Here’s the last sunset and sunrise of a glorious week weather wise. One in the mountains and one on the beach taken from O’Leary’s Irish bar where the food is just bloody amazing and the best pint of Guinness in Spain.. “ sunrise “
