im doing the same with Alcantara
Looks like Man U have caught the Arsenal bug of taking an epicly long time. Saying that, maybe Barca want to keep Alcantara or the player wants to stay, thus the delay?
According to press reports both Madrid & Barca have denied receiving offers for either player
Either someone doesn't know or there is some major bullshitting going on. It doesn't bode well.
It's all media speculation or ITK ****ers on Twitter.
Take the Higuain "transfer saga" for example.Have you ever heard anyone from Arsenal Football Club make any quote that the club has made a bid for Higuain ?
I'm sick and tired of all the lies and bull that come from the media. They should be regulated somehow so they don't make things up. However, that would close down 99% of the UK media....
Thing is though the club hardly ever say anything about specific transfers whether they have made a bid or not.
I wouldn't be surprised if there hasn't been a final agreement on the fee, because the wording used by Higuain's agent/father was so precise and strange.
And because even newspapers don't usually go out of their way to tell obvious lies. It may well be that Real Madrid want their cake and to eat it as well. They may realize that Higuain is leaving, but are still hoping that someone else will come in for him, so don't want to put pen to paper until they absolutely HAVE to.
I think this one will drag on with everyone blaming Arsenal for a slow transfer. I'm still fairly confident though, I just don't see any club that have money entering the race for Higuain. He is a top player but there do seem to be a lot of CFs about at the moment. He just isn't going to want to share top duty with Aguero/Dzeko, Ibrahimovich, Falcao, RVP/Rooney etc. and Mourinho is the guy that played him as a squad player at Real.
I can't see where else he will go right now, so we just have to be patient. I don't think we need to pay Real Madrid 5M more just because they ask for it.

People need to realise the way Arsenal conduct their business, the club will not bow to the selling clubs demands, there will be a negotiating period as there is in any business transaction, you will never hear rumours from within the club.
Clubs like Chelsea or M City where money is irrelevant will pay whatever the selling club wants because a few million here and there doesn't matter.
Arsenal will conduct their business professionally and privately, they have no obligation to inform fans or the waiting world, their only obligation is to do what's best for Arsenal FC, I applaud that and if it take another fortnight to get our target(s) so be it, so long as it is at the right price and for the right terms I'm happy.
Let things develop, I know we've a few rough windows but this one will be positive, let it run its' course before the negativity begins....
