Watching the Sunday Supplement on Skype and they were discussing United and a reporter called Neil Curtis from the Sun said United were missing a top striker. Another called Jack Pitt Brook from The Independent asked if United "made a mistake by allowing Kane sign a new contract at Spurs?" Curtis replied that United have "given up dealing with tottenham cos it causes too many headaches."
I have no idea where to start with any of that.

Fergie said as much in his book. Hated dealing with Spurs. He said best way to get his man was to unsettle the player ala Berbatov.

Start at the beginning ?? Man Utd :

1. AFAIK have NO POWER over whether Kane signs any new contract with Spurs.

2. Have been burnt big time by Levy with their (then) attempts to asset-strip Spurs
just as the club were again consolidating at the business end of the PL.

Last time I checked, Man Utd don't dictate who does and does not sign a new contract at Spurs...

It was the United messed up by "allowing Kane to sign a new contract at spurs" that left me speechless. There are 4 journalists on the show and the only response was United hate doing business with us.
No one thought to say that it's got **** all to do with United if Kane signs a new contract with us or why ghetto **** would Kane leave spurs for United?
Confirms my view that the papers act as mouth pieces for the "big 5" clubs. Maybe they want access to their managers so are not willing to piss them off or maybe it's just cos they are lazy so prefer to make **** up but either way it's piss poor journalism.

Talksport tonight discussing Chelsea. A reporter (don't know his name) said Chelsea had been injury free to key players and they may go through the season not getting any like spurs did last season.
So I guess Son getting injured v city in Sept and not returning til after Xmas didn't happen.
Vertongen missing for 10 weeks or so after Connor Wickham elbowed him was another figment of my imagination.
Rose being injured for the first 3 or 4 matches of the season (where we didn't win any) also did not occur.
Mason (a first team regular at the time) getting injured scoring the winner v Sunderland in Sept and pretty much ruining his season as he did not return as the same player is just a dream on my part.
Finally, we didn't have to wait until mid October for Dembele to return from an injury in the 4th match of the season.

So apart from those 5 injuries to our players the reporter was spot on!!!!

And ... breathe. :) Don't let the Narrative (TM) get to you.
The standings come May is all that matters as far as dealing with the hacks go.

Tottenham are concerned France goalkeeper Hugo Lloris, their 29-year-old club captain, could leave at the end of the season, with Manchester City's Joe Hart, also 29, and Sunderland's Jordan Pickford, 22, potential replacements.(Sun)

Here we go again.............................

A quick summary of a couple of headlines I've seen today...

Kane leading race to replace Aguero
...which is actually in reference to Fantasy Football, as the majority of players are swapping out Aguero for Kane ahead of Aguero's impending suspension, but take a moment to think about how many thousand clicks those headlines got as people thought the story referred to City making a January bid for Harry.

Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino makes diving practice admission
...in reference to when he was playing for Newell's Old Boys, which was over twenty years ago, but that one certainly got a ****load of clicks because we're being told to be angry about Dele Alli - but we're certainly not supposed to ask where the Two Minutes Hate for every single penalty Michael Owen, David Beckham, Wayne Rooney, Alan Shearer, Steven Gerrard, Paul Scholes, Ashley Young, Raheem Sterling, Frank Lampard, Daniel Sturridge or Jamie Vardy dived for was given.

They got zero clicks. OTOH if they had put Vardy instead of Aguero ...

Just a reminder, last year France Football claimed that Hugo had an £18m release clause in his contract - which turned out to be a...remind me, what's the opposite of something truthful?

So it will cost 30m just for Toby to leave Spurs.
And how much on top of that for another club to have him join them ??

We sold Pritchard for £10m. He had less than 90 mins premier league experience.
The idea that we would ever have put a sell on fee of just £30m on Toby is a joke.
