Paul Merson has blabbered to anyone who will listen that he isn't convinced by Davinson Sanchez or Serge Aurier Can't think of any other time his verdict has come back to haunt him like the Amityville Horror on steroids... please log in to view this image
Is this the same Paul Merson who A) "can't understand why Barklay didn't go to Chelsea 'cos he'd get games" and B) was outraged cos WBA refused to sell Johnny Evans to City. Barklay being injured until December and WBA having Johnny Evans under contract and are not abliged to bend over for Pep doesn't appear to be part if his thinking.
I saw Merson performing his pundit role for the first time yesterday Obviously there to represent the man in the pub view ..................after 8 pints of course
Also, I enjoyed Thierry Henry's "Spurs don't act like a big club" nonsense. No, we don't let our best players' contracts run down so they can leave for nothing, keep a squad of 35 players on huge wages when half of them are total rubbish and keep reappointing a manager who has clearly lost it. It's not acting like a big club that's the trick, it's playing like one.
I find it hard to criticise Merson, to be honest, as he's not claiming to be an insightful football genius. He's a laugh, doesn't take it too seriously and adds some comic relief to the whole thing. I'd rather him than Charlie Nicholas or Michael Owen, who both add nothing and are dull as dishwater. He's also honest about his club. This was from May: "I'd make a case for Sanchez to get in the Tottenham team. After that I can't make a case for anybody."
I thought everyone knew the bloke down the pub is at his most knowledgeable/prescient after 8 pints (I know this because the bloke down the pub told me) .
They ran a lurid story about a Swiss banker and the sort of services he asked his various escorts to perform.
To be fair both Switzerland and banking are very boring. Must have cost him a few quid as well. That kind of 'service' usually does.
Can we get this bloke on ArsenalFanTV? He seems like enough of a delusional trainwreck to fit in with the clueless regulars... https://shewore.com/2017/09/02/liverpool-and-spurs-fans-have-no-right-to-banter-arsenal/
Davinson Sanchez should have stayed at Ajax, says Ajax general executive Edwin van der Sar Goal(dot)com really should have used that full sentence for their clickbait headline, not just the first seven...
The Grauniad did a fine job in their report on the Stoke/Man Utd match, praising the debut of German centre back Kevin Wimmer. I think they need to have a word with their reporters, since they seem to think the Greater German Reich is still a thing...
