Interesting words from Ian Wright ...

<quote>
If I’m Daniel Levy, I’m doing every single thing I can to see if I can get him back to Spurs,” Wright told BBC Radio 5 live.
“You say it’s not going to happen, but they have not signed anyone, suppose they just went bang [and got Bale].

“You can speak to Gareth Bale and say to him, ‘Listen, you have got three Champions Leagues, what are you going to do at Man United, win another Champions League? Why don’t you come here, take us to the next level?’”
</quote>

Of course get Real Madrid won't let Bale go cheaply, and a big drop in his
wages would be necessary, but the sales pitch is correct.
He's on something like £350k pw. There's absolutely no way that he's coming back.
He'll probably stay at Madrid and if he leaves, then he'll go to somewhere where he'll earn a similar amount.

The thing about them is that they 'wage damage'
their players for potential exits. I wonder how much of a wage
cut Ozil took to join the Goons (I doubt the level that VDV took
to join Spurs) .

According to The Sun, Antonio Conte is demanding that Chelsea make a £40m bid for Danny Rose. It is suggested that Chelsea believe that the 'poisonous atmosphere' that has existed between the clubs since the tapping up of Luka Modric has been resolved.

I don't know where to start with that load of bollocks.

More bizarrely is the idea that we would sell a player that :

A) we do not want to sell (which - rightly or wrongly - was not the case with Walker)
B) who has over 4 years on his current contract
C) who is the best player in his position in the league
D) who is apparently homesick for the north of England

to the 2nd richest club in England for £40m at a time that we got £50m plus for Walker and when there would be a massive bidding war between Milan, United and Chelsea for him.

I do not see us selling him but if he forces a move it will be for a shed load more than £40m.

Well this is one of those rare scenarios when where you start is
exactly the same place as where you end.
So for the above, start = end = <rofl>

To Chelsea?

The 'journalist' responsible for this fable, Dave Kidd, is either ignorant of the history between the owners or has for the sake of column inches chosen to just ignore it.

Abramovic failing to buy Tottenham when Levy laughed at him?

Tapping up Frank Arnessen?

Levy taking Abramovic for £10m over the above when Chelsea had a 3 point deduction pending for tapping up Ashley Cole?

None of it is taken into account. Levy and Abramovic hate each other. Levy wouldn't sell Abramovic the steam off his piss. I doubt that he'd sell him Sissoko. It's that bad!

I got fired from my job today because I used my office e-mail to circulate a ten-page memo where I complained the cafetria refused to give me a second helping of jelly and ice cream at lunch. I guess I should pretend I have never heard of the word "professionalism" and go crying to Breitbart, which certainly wasn't what I planned all along.

...and that's how people should be reporting the "Google fire a dickhead for being a dickhead when they were paying him to not be a dickhead" story, because that's what the story actually is.

BBC Gossip this morning! To be expected, but not what I wanted to wake up to.... Thanks, Danny!!

If there is any truth, at all, to these rumours, it's going to be a very dark time at the club.

Can somebody remind me how many Arsenal players were "lining up to leave because of the club's rigid pay structure" in the seasons before the Emiroids went up? Because, with the obvious exceptions of Vieira and Anelka going full mercenary every summer, the entire squad seemed more than happy with that club's rigid wage structure - and the gutter press weren't dogpiling on a story they themselves created.

Also, it suddenly dawned on me that The Sun must be full of ****!

The Rose story only broke in the press yesterday, and yet they are, this morning, reporting that he got "a hero's welcome" in training.

How the Hell could they have known that by the time they went to press?
<doh>

Roses interview would have been on Weds at the latest and the players would (technically) have had sight before they arrived at training. That's not to say that the Sun are not making up all this ****, but it would be possible.......
