Why would they change the colour of our badge to gold? What have we done of note to deem ourselves worthy of gold? It will be like putting a star on our kit to celebrate winning the paint pot.

I wouldn't stop supporting, but I'd be mightily ****ed off ... Saints are red/white, always should be red/white. It's who we are

I agree, but I don't get my knickers in a twist when we change out kit. It's a kit. Why don't people complain when the away kit changes colour? A small part if me thinks it should forever be yellow and below because of 76, but what the heck. Saints have been red and white stripes for years and years, but it wasn't out original kit. We had blue shirts for years too, but a change happened: so be it.

We still are red and white by the way.

Double post.

I will add though, why for years have we sung, "Come on you reds" and "red army". I always thought we should have sung "red and white army" but we don't. Maybe Cortese thought it was a message.

I don't have a problem with change either. I just want the players to look good while they play the game. We all have a general idea of what looks ugly, and although there'll never be a kit which puts every last Saints supporter into ecstasy, it's very simple for kit designers to avoid making obvious errors. Unfortunately, embedding corporate styling cues into an otherwise perfectly good looking kit design can play havoc with the overall look. Addidas have traditionally had three thin stripes in their company styling; you either like it or you lump it, but it has to be there. Now they have this template which seems to dictate where the separation of colours occur in a multiple colour design. Once again, it appears to be like it or lump it. Appearance wise, I've always been so-so about anything Addidas have done other than their football boots and trainers, of which I've had several pairs over the years.

I know we're red & white still, my initial comment about it was in response to someone saying they didn't care what colour we played in.

Why can't we just have stripes? It's so easy!

I think because it meant no one ever bought the new shirt. I always remember seeing the crowd at The Dell/ SMS and they would all be wearing a variety of Saints shirts dating from the 70s to present day, because nothing ever really changed. The last match I was at was (unfortunately) Saints vs WBA, and I spotted a Sanderson sponsered shirt, can't remember which one though.
