Allam's insistence on the name is the first step to moving the club out of the City boundaries.

Hull Tigers or simply 'The Tigers' as he'd prefer smacks of the franchise system in the NFL.

I remember the LA Rams when they became the St Louis Rams - same owner, same coach, same players but different area.
I'm not saying Allam will move us far (I think we all know his grand plan) but this is the first step towards a move.

Much can be applauded of his philanthropic work but he is a danger to the unity of our club.

I'm sorry, I'm grateful for all he's done, but in that interview he comes across as a complete arsehole.

We're City, we'll always be City and will be City long after Assem has gone.

The reasons for doing it remain complete bollocks.

The war starts now.

I'll bring my tank.

This is wholly optimistic from the Allams, since we've got no pedigree in the footballing world, and nobody outside of Hull and EY cares for us.

No success on the pitch, means we haven't got a leg to stand on.

If he does proceed in this, i bet we get signed up to the Asian version of Cash Converters, or some other ****e product/ company nobody wants.

No wonder he thinks he can get away with anything with some of the clueless fans we have on here.

All the newbies and those interested in seeing Stevie G won't be bothered. Those who have been supporting Hull City for a long time will be seriously considering jacking it in the day that happens.
How much will it take galvanise some into action? If we did go to Melton and he decided to rename them Melton Tigers to rub it in with the council or East Yorks Tigers as they would be playing in East Yorks would they still shrug their shoulders and say it is still our club?

Ive said it publicly before and I'll say it again - the day the name City is officially dropped from our name then i no longer support an English team. I wont go watch an English team and therefore posting on here would be pointless. Silver linings and all that...

And out of interest, where now are all those who I argued with on here who maintained time and again that we were only dropping AFC from our name and criticising that was ridiculous? Lambo and I may have had our disagreements but we seem to have been 2 of the few who saw this all along.

I have no problem with AFC being dropped from the business name. I still believe that the Premier League will step in if the football name is changed as I have posted before.

Do you think he'd see the value in changing the (too long) name of 'Allam Marine', to 'AA Marine'. It's not only shorter - it's more egotistical, too.

That's crazy talk Stan. Allam Marine has very little business in the maritime industry. The name is quite clearly redundant.

I'm sure the Allams are looking to push through a name change as we speak.

TO HELL WITH TRADITION

'Buckingham Palace' should be re-named 'Royal Palace', tourists want to know what they're getting
'The Royal Air Force' is too long as a name, why not 'British Jets'? - much more punchy
'The National Health Service' is meaningless as a name, better to call it 'Medicare UK'

nearer to home..

'Hull Daily Mail', nah.. 'Hull News'
'Hull Trinity House School', what a mouthful!, how about 'The Sailor Academy'

oh yes..

'West Yorkshire Police'.. wait for it... 'Crime Fighters'
