Payback for Wet Spam nicking Phil Parkes.

When was that? 1977/78ish. Its taken a while to come back round hasn't it?

Fantastic news , with Cerny staying now i would like us to go and have a scout around and find a good young prospect to be number 2/3 for a while and learn the ropes. Lets start building.

We have done some sound business in the free market , will enable us to have a good strong pre season, hopefully !

Looking forward to see him play, he seems to have regained his confidence looks like a good bit of business, if that's true.

Kenny should be given the option to stay for the work he has done for the club, he'd be a good no2, though I suspect he will move on if given the choice. Good luck to him.

Not 100% sure with this one as Green is prone to make silly errors, only time will tell; maybe I see him playing when he has an off day……….
Paddy has been superb for us and will make a great No 2 (if he stays) but I think his is now off to Leeds, with Cerny as the No 2………

From what I saw of him playing for West Ham last season, he didn't really make any major gaffes, and looked like his confidence was very good. Let's hope that a successful campaign in europe, followed by a good pre-season and start to the new Premier League season, keeps him that way.

Maybe Phil Beard has been reading Flyer's condemnation of signing oldies on long contracts!
I am Phil Beard but that bugger of a manager wont listen to me!

Great news that its only 2 years. This will be a big upgrade on Kenny and we wont be stuck with him in 3 -4 years time.

I think Cerny will retire after this season and we can get a young #2 in pushing for the starting spot.

Payback for taking Sinclair and giving us those 3 muppets in return.

One of those players went on to become one of our top 1,000 managers of all time (I won't start that thread).

Any time we sign the current England #2 in any position, that's great news. If we signed Leighton Baines (#2 left back) or Micah Richards (#2 right back) we'd be partying, and whilst Green maybe isn't as headline making as those two would be, it's still a current England International, choosing to play for QPR.

Very happy with this news.

Yep, I'd agree with that: happy with Green and Kenny (hope he stays). As has also been said, payback on West Ham for nicking Parkes and Sinclair, the latter in exchange for absolute tosh.

Green signs for the Rs. Obviously got fed up with the free porn at West Ham and is now looking for free air tickets instead.

Only way to rate these signings is against who they are replacing, so
Is Green better than Kenny - yes
Is Nelsen better than Hall/Gabbidon - definitely yes, better than Hill, to be decided
Is Johnson better than Campbell - in my view yes

So good business so far.

I don't get this every keeper makes mistakes, as for Paddy yes he was outstanding in the championship for us i don't think he had a great season in the prem he was at fault for a number of goals and could have been a lot better.

I dont see the point of margainly improving our backups while the 1st team remains poor.

Is Green better than Kenny - yes, a good signing
Is Johnson better than Cisse - No, a terrible signing
Is Nelsen better than Hill/Ferdinand - TBC

Surely we need to improve the whole squad?...wont be relying on just 11 players for the whole season...my guess is that we are improving the "squad" through the free transfer market and then spending some cash on the "first team"...
