Absolutely, and I think sometimes people mix workrate with ability - and there's no doubt the two are linked on some level - but people look at Philogene's laconic style and I think they naturally lower him a peg, but he actually does a lot of defensive running and actions as well, far more than a stereotypical winger of his sort would do, and I think that's something he's benefitted massively from Rosenior with developing. When he does earn his move to the PL, his two way running will put him in a really good position to succeed as he'll be valuable to sides even without the same volume of goal involvements.

I just think at around £20m, he's a no-brainer of a pickup for someone like Spurs. The international football (Eng u21s) is the real leveller and if we're being honest KLP used to scrape into those squads but only feature with brief cameos or in dead rubbers. Jaden's a core part of the squad, he's a regular starter and I'd argue the current squad is better, especially in the attacking departments. He looks so good amongst better players and certainly not out of place.

Wouldn't surprise me at all if Villa came back for him, and they'd get him cheaper than everyone else because of the sell-on clause.

Yeah Spurs were the one I was thinking of who would probably do well with him. At a stretch Liverpool might want him as they have a few wingers getting on a bit, but Diaz on that left hand side wouldn't allow for much development. Perhaps a rung down and he'd go to a Newcastle or Bournemouth if Bournemouth are splashing the cash on young promising players from the Championship.

Let’s not **** on KLP to bring up Philogene.

As far as I’m concerned Philogene has arguably been just as inconsistent as KLP was in his last season with us and he’s in a much better team.
Also the u21s team KLP was getting into won the Euros and had much better players in then it does currently.

Gibbs White, Smith Rowe, Gordon, Palmer, 4 arguably England first team quality players vs the last squad Philo got in which had a lot of championship players in it

Philogene got man of the match in a game that Palmer started in last October?

I’m not disputing Philogene is arguably as good as KLP just don’t need to **** on his achievement of getting into the squad when the squad he got into was better standard

Philogene has 16 goal involvements in 2361 minutes. KLP got 15 in in 4150 so it's not really comparable.

That u21s squad is stronger now, Madueke is better than he was 2 years ago, Harvey Elliott is better than MGW, Gordon wasn't anywhere close to the level he is now, Bynoe-Gittens is a decent operator too.

When KLP played he was playing wing back and when he wasn’t it was a team that played 5 at the back with 2 holding midfielders that didn’t keep possession. Really not comparable. Carvalho/Omur v Honeyman, Tufan v Eaves, Seri v Smallwood, Giles v Elder… come on now

I thought we'd established that if AN other team come in and offer the same its the players choice... if AN other team offers more Villa would have to at least match the offer.. and thats if wanted to go there in the first place..

Do i think Philogene is better? Yes. But let’s not act like circumstances don’t massively favour Philogene to flourish and show his best. The fact KLP scored as many as he did is a credit to him and is why he got his move. I’d love to know how well he’d do under Rosenior as think there still may be a chance he comes back next season given Brentford just broke their record on another forward
