While you're right to an extent, I think Bowen and Grosicki were levels above what we have at the moment in terms of experience and quality, and as evidenced when they left, they carried us in the majority of games that season.
That’s true but when you factor in the quality of the rest of the squad he did very well to build a platform for them to succeed with what was behind them.

I suppose so, but when you have that quality of attacking player it can paper over the cracks of a poor defence by virtue of the ball just not going down there as often, or teams not being prepared to commit to attacking quite so much when they can be hit so effectively on the counter.

Very valid point. I think we can say the same for Delap and Philogene this season though, don’t think we can claim a good defence tbh

Absolutely, when Delap and Philogene were fit and firing as a combination I think it contributed to teams giving us a certain level of respect. In more recent times that's really played against us as we've struggled so much with breaking sides down.

He wasn’t when he played for us ffs<laugh>

no but he was on course for two consecutive 20 goal championship seasons..
he scored 22
then he had 16 by January.. when he was sold
that's ****ing unprecedented
and the season before that he had 14

that level is rare as **** hence why he's at england now, he's a class above
winner in the conference league etc

Of course that’s relevant, but he still needs a platform by which he can achieve this. Bowen would’ve had 30 by Jan in this team!

philogene is not even close to bowen yet
i think we are massively underestimating just how good bowen was and is
we massively undersold him
same with robertson etc

but tbh i dont even want to talk about the ****ing allams

and mccann is the summary of their awful ownership
let us forget

Bowen was in the grand scheme of things, but he had 18 months on his deal so I think we did okay.

No one thought Robertson would hit the heights he has done when he left.

We got way more than we should’ve for Clucas, cracking fee for KLP so it balances out

i did to be fair, but irregardless
the allam reign makes me sick
and i can promise you, rosie will have a far more successful managerial career than grant

I think he’ll have a decent career.

He’s one of many managers trying to implement this style outside of the top flight, next season will tell us all we need to know about him long and short term

We got the right manager in the end, but sacking Grant for Shota was an awful decision. The latter was a disaster, not just in the results but the slapdash recruitment under him which wasted a lot of our FFP headroom. Our budget now would be bigger if we hadn't blown so much money on ****e in summer 2022.

shota was a joke
it was a massive wakeup call to acun etc
and youre right, it wasted a lot of time, although rosie wasnt available till autumn 2022 anyway, i think shota was a good thing as it has given acun and tan valuable lessons

Philogene has 10 in half a season's worth of games.

If he scores more and does it another 2 years
Then hes close to bowens level

And 27 is not half of 46 lad

Oh you're right it's 58% not 50%, please do forgive me for approximating. <doh>

Philogene has 16 G+A this season in 27 games, Bowen had 26 G+A in 46. That's not miles apart
