My Dad & Grandfather, both lifelong R's, were born and grew up in London with residences on Bradiston Rd (W9), Fernhead Rd (W9) & Evelyn Ave (NW9) in that order. I see for the W9 addresses that West Kilburn and Kilburn Park tube station are shown on the map. Old funeral cards have mainly Paddington (Kensal Green Cemetery)and a few Marylebone references on them.

I remember as a youngster, living in Hampshire, perhaps around 6 yrs old (1959?), visiting my Grandparents (retired) in London and I recall their residence was a brick row house with a peach tree growing in a small back garden, that actually had tasty succulent fruit on it I recall. Parking was on the street. I think this might have been Evelyn Ave? I think on another trip Dad drove by his early boyhood homes in W9 and talked about how much those neighbourhoods had gone downhill over the years from how they were. I realise in this age it is not politically correct to say so - Dad was a product of his times & upbringing, but I remember him once saying things went downhill in those areas after the "wogs" moved in - probably just repeating something his own Dad said.

Anyway Dad often mentioned Kilburn, so I chose that as my moniker.

Flanagan and Allen (one for the kids!) had a song called Strolling and I have the same surname as one of this duo. Also describes my playing style!

"He's red, white and blue, World Cup Willy,
We all love him too, World Cup Will,
He's tough as a lion and never will give up,
That's why Willy is favourite for the Cup".

"Strolling, just strolling, In the cool of the evening air,
I don't envy the rich in their automobiles, For a motor car is phoney. I'd rather have Shanks's pony,
When I'm strolling, just strolling, With the light of the moon above,
Ev'ry night I go out strolling, And I know my luck is rolling, When I'm strolling with the one I love."

For what it's worth mate, I think it's a great name.

Of course I'm swayed by the fact that he is my all time favourite player AND he follows me on twitter AND he acknowledged my adulation last week. Seems like a down to earth nice fella too.

My name comes from the initials of the surnames of my three favourite players;- Quashie, Parejo and Rehman. The 999 bit is how many goals they scored for us. ( Not in one season. )

I believe that supporting QPR is the greatest rollercoaster ride in the known universe.

To borrow an paragraph from the "Welcome" page on my blog...

That was the start of a rollercoaster ride which, in my opinion, is unrivaled in world football. Both on and off the field Queens Park Rangers are rarely out of the sporting headlines for long. Our club thunders along, racing up and down, twisting this way and that, barely clinging onto the tracks, constantly defying all perceived wisdom, ensuring that all Q.P.R. supporters suffer a hectic, white knuckle ride. Apart from the inevitable relegations and promotions, playoff escapades and F.A. Cup humiliation, there has been a period in administration, boardroom back stabbings that put Dallas or Dynasty to shame, the tyrannical reign of Flavio Briatore who at his peak made nine managerial appointments in two seasons, the ”Great Brawl of China”, and the F.A. investigation into the signing of Alejandro Faurlin which threatened to cost the team promotion back to the Premier League. The tragic deaths of Kiyan Prince and Ray Jones make these footballing matters pale into insignificance, two young men with potentially glittering futures cruelly ripped from this world.
