I believe that because he is under 21 the tribunal panel take into account our investment in his development as an academy player and we are recompensed for that investment (i believe that typically gets valued at 100-150k), if we successfully argued the injury rehabilitation was an additional cost then that would have been added also (doctors and physio costs - not cheap!).
The add on clauses would be to give Saints additional compensation should he turn out to be a good player as measured either by appearances or sell on value.
So the fees stack up we have hardly ripped Hudds off, I think we have got a reasonable return based on the investment we have made in producing a professional player.
