100% on the money No one in the western world should be allowed to be green IMO Yes it's awareness but they are still a part of the problem ... What they are really saying you are 100% right Look at me I am living in a better way than you so save me they carefully recycle everything and make sure everyone knows that around them before passing on their rubbish to the councils eg in Brighton who have spent their refuse budget by July on an average year so are forced to landfill everything into the Sussex Downs anyway Vegans the same IMO Look at me I eat vegan food But their rules change and their quest for perfect vegan foods never ends Most I know can't grow anything for a toffee and the ones that do forget about the animals who live alongside their crops ... They cannot discount animal dna at anytime ... A slug trail on a lettuce leaf for example IMO it's a mental illness and again a lifestyle choice which is saying look at me I'm natural and don't trust the big bad world Now of course you can grow perfect vegan food in laboratory conditions but that involves science .... Usually the first thing your typical green vegan dismisses Lots of my friends are both and hate me when I say fancy a macdonalds ? There are strict monitored rules about food you are statistically better off buying food there than you would be at your local butchers IMO Check out how much Vegan and veggie food costs ? Check out the word organic The planet creates its own poisons to man it will survive without us idiots
lol, DT, you certainly have a way with words !! I am reading this book atm, about global macro-economic trends. One of the fascinating points raised is, that currently most countries have signed up to reducing carbon emissions by 50% by 2050. For that to be achieved, the world can only consume a certain amount of fossil fuels during that time, and current reserves total more than 3.5 times that amount; and exploration still being carried out, for more fossil fuels. So if man is to survive on this planet, there is absolutely no way, we can ever run out of fossil fuels. Man would die from inhospitable weather, before oil/gas runs out. Which is why Saudi Arabia is refusing production cuts, because they know an alternative fuel will be discovered before they pump all their oil out, leaving any remaining in the ground, completely worthless. Or we wont be around to use their oil, again, leaving any remaining in the ground, completely worthless.
Hope it all goes well, sb. There are many types of blood pressure tablets. Mine have a Diuretic in them which cause the kidneys to remove more sodium and water from the body, which helps to relax the blood vessel walls, thereby lowering blood pressure. Apparently my kidneys were were in poor state with the prognosis being that I had high blood pressure for quite some time but it had not been picked up. I was pissing all the time and when checked, the doctor had me carrying a large plastic bottle to gauge how much over a 24 hour period. I managed 24 pisses in 24 hours. Quite a feat really. Anyway, as the specialist said, people can go through life not knowing that they have high blood pressure and the damaged to your kidneys can be immense. It can and will then affect your eyes and other organs as he mentioned how bad some patients cases were. I work on the theory that every ten years, we need to change and adapt our lifestyle in readiness for the next stage of our life. If we turn a blind eye to it, there will be a very good chance we won't survive it. If we adapt, we get through the next stage. Sounds boring and as you say, the reward that we feel entitled to after years of hardwork and raising a family, seems we are cheated. Bit like supporting Queens Park Rangers ................ we're there for the hard times, living in hope of finally making to the promise land and sharing in some glory and then we get rolled over by another false promise or alike.
Saw a specialist last night, seems I am in the same boat Aussie, medication starting this week, due to damaged kidneys from stones........such is life, mustn't grumble etc. Blood pressure not too bad, but worth getting down a notch or two. Only upsides as far as I can tell. One of the benefits is a reduced risk of vascular dementia (loads of undetected mini strokes doing your brain in), and given that dementia is just about my greatest fear (much more than cancer) I wish I had been on them since birth. Because it has more sugar in it than Coca Cola (full fat). Eating a handful of cranberries is much better. Years ago young Stainsey posted on here about a health issue (much more serious that mine) and urged us all to look after ourselves. Without wishing to be preachy, I'd do the same. If you are about my age (50+) you should get a letter from your GP at some stage inviting you to a mid life heart health check. Don't be a bloke, go. I sat on my letter for six months. What's the worst that can happen? You get a reassuring 'you are in good nick' or get a few pills which will help you avoid dialysis or an amputation due to diabetes. Which, to be selfish, are ****ing expensive things for us taxpayers to fund.
Yes, l so have some at times but more acute cases require medicines and possibly a change in lifestyle ... cheers.
