As for his employer the burden of proof for disciplining someone at work (balance of probability) is very different to criminal cases (beyond reasonable doubt) so they don’t need to know all the details to start a process and suspend him / put him on gardening leave (which this sounds like)
If everyone who committed a criminal offence(or is charged for one) was disciplined in their workplace,I'd have no workmates left.
