They might ask for special dispensation ahead of then, they've got two keepers out now, they're now relying on some kid they've just recalled from a loan at Crawley and a youth player who's only (non) league experience was playing on loan at Gateshead.

Rob Elliott is now the No.1 GK @ the toon. Fred Woodman is the kid recalled from Crawley.

Rob Elliott has been quoted in the local press that they can cope........for now at least.

I suspect that at least 6 other teams will object to it. Sunderland being one of them. Lol.

BREAKING: League One side Coventry sign former England international Joe Cole on loan from Aston Villa.

How the mighty fall...

He's nearly 34.

I can think of a certain 30-year-old England international signing for a League One club a few years back...

Celtic sign striker Carlton Cole until 2017

Celtic have signed former England striker Carlton Cole on a contract until 2017.

The 32-year-old free agent, who has seven caps for his country, has been training with the Parkhead club for several weeks after leaving West Ham.

He has scored 85 goals in more than 380 senior club appearances, with spells at Chelsea, Wolves, Charlton, Aston Villa and the Hammers.

Cole will be presented to the media on Thursday lunchtime in Glasgow.

At least it will stop the nonsense of Carlton Cole signing for PL strugglers Sunderland. <laugh>

Cole is certain to win a league title medal and then play in the champions league next season.

I wonder who will take on Kevin Nolan now ? Big Sam says he wont be bringing Nolan to the mackems.

Shola Ameobi has just signed for Bolton.
I met a geordie on holiday in Cyprus, WHAT a ****ing laugh he was, a seriously great bloke, anyway the moral to the story is that he was convinced that Ameobi was a great fit for the Championship. I'm not convinced, but if he can score the goals for Bolton that take points from our rivals then he'll have been a great signing.
