MITROGLOU LEAVING FULHAM

Fulham boss Kit Symons has confirmed striker Kostas Mitroglou is on the verge of joining Benfica on a season-long loan.

Mitroglou - a Greece international - was signed in January 2014 for £11m from Olympiacos, but has only played three times for the Whites.

"There's a good chance that Kostas will be off on loan shortly. If so it will be to Benfica but it's not confirmed yet," Symons confirmed.

FAILED MEDICAL FOR BOATENG

Kevin-Prince Boateng did not sign for Sporting Lisbon because he failed a medical, the Portuguese club's director of international relations has revealed.

"Boateng was here in Lisbon. He underwent medical tests and failed because of a knee problem. He had an operation on his knee at the age of 16 and he has been having problems for the last two or three years," Augusto Inacio told SIC Noticias.

Inacio's comments come after Sporting released a statement on Wednesday saying they had pulled out of the deal following a disagreement about the 28-year-old Boateng's image rights.
