It really is like talking to a woman. Where did i move the goal posts? I doubt AB got a 3 year deal. If he did it would be wrong but i doubt he did. Again you me any ****er else on here have no idea what deal he got but you believe what you want.
Rosey would have got a deal if we'd stayed up, I reckon, but we didnt so Bruce made some hard decisions.

As Chelsea and Arsenal have a policy of only offering 1 year deals to over 30's I think I'll side with Arse and Jose.
John Terry was pushing like **** to get a two year deal last season but they wouldnt budge.

Chelsea gave Terry a five-year deal at 28, though, which is even more speculative than a three-year deal at 30.

In fact, Lampard got a new five-year deal at 30, and both those panned out well for Chelsea.

Dont be ridiculous Tuckin. John Terry at 28 would have commanded a huge fee.
Arteta's complaining now at Arsenal as his 4 year deal is finished at 32.
Its a sensible policy.

It is sensible - but at the same time offering a 30-year-old with a good fitness record a three-year deal wouldn't be "madness", as was suggested.

Players are individuals and should be treated according to their own strengths, weaknesses and likely durability. Just as you wouldn't commit to a lengthy contract at 30 to an injury-prone fading light like Owen or Fowler, you'd also be failing if you overlooked players just reaching their best and had years to give, such as Sheringham or Windass.

I highly doubt Fergie regrets the sheringham deal when he was 31!
 
It's bollocks to think that a player goes into decline at 30, why shouldn't they get a good deal if they're a good player? Age isn't a reflection of ability. Distin just got a three year deal at Bournemouth, if you're good enough then you should be playing.

I'd be just as happy if we signed somebody who was good and 33 than if we signed somebody decent and 23.
