No he didn’t in fairness. If he was being pulled back or fouled at the point of the offside I’d understand that interpretation, but he was offside ran through and was then fouled. Meh.

That's why I thought you were wrong...but that's why the offside law is a mess. 2 different interpretations and both valid...should simply be a factual decision like goal line technology imo.

So, overall you saw about as much as I did...

I watched the whole match up to the point when, 20 minutes from the end, I had to leave to go to work. You said earlier that you had barely watched the game.

I know you are opinionated, but clinging stubbornly to opinions on games you haven't watched, or books you haven't read, is a bit strong even by your standards.

****ing buzzing with that result, Jose would have lost that one.

Nice little Acca in as well at 30/1.

Cheers Rom, six ton to spend tonight <cheers>

I didn’t say I barely watched it, I said I didn’t watch all of it.

I gave an opinion on what I saw, which was about 2/3 of the game overall.

I do not give opinions on games, films, books I haven’t seen or watched.

But if you did, they'd probably be the best opinions in the world.

What are the two interpretations? There’s only one I know of and he was slightly off.

That kane had not touched the ball and so the assistant ref did not raise the flag...happens dozens of times in a game...so a player who is clearly offside as the ball goes towards a team mate, ends up scoring as the ball rebounds at their feet off a defender or keeper...phases of play and stuff.

If kane hasn't touched the ball he does not get flagged as being offside so penalty is given.

To my mind offside is offside when the player offside touches the ball...the phases of play causes chaos and weird arse decisions imo.
