I'm just loving the whole, "Oh it's not illegal to break UK law as sporting competitions are allowed to". It's not. It's why the PL **** themselves every time something comes up and try everything in their power to do it behind closed doors, it's why an independent government regulator is coming on board.
It is a long established principle that sporting bodies are allowed leeway to promote sporting equality over all of Europe and presumably USA considering how bodies the NFL operate .

If football was serious about FFP they would have simply put a transfer cap in place ...like only £100m per window.
They'd make players pay agent fees and they'd put a wage cap in place so that (for example) a club could spend £200m a year in wages including bonuses etc.

But that would mean slightly leveling things up whereas current rules seem designed to keep clubs from catching up.

There's a reason there has never been a cap and that's because the Premier League wanted to bring the best players to English football at whatever price. As I see it the PL is reeping what it sowed, that's why I laugh at Man City pissing everyone off and hopefully even funnier if any punishment is miniscule. Did anyone care at the top when they created a breakaway league in 1992, did anyone care about the lower league clubs going under, it's taken over 30 years to get anything like a scratching of a deal with the TV companies that prop up the Prem. In more recent times, clubs attempted to create a top six league with the rest of Europe, then we have UEFA who have changed beyond recognition what use to be the European Cup. We've got players crying because they play too many games, while being paid obscene wages to keep the elite in the UK. The Prem will not change, why would it, it has a fair chunk of the pie, so fook em, hopefully Pep can gloat over a few more trophies this year, although someone called Slot has big ideas about spoiling the party, hmmm...

The tribunal has declared the APT Rules to be unlawful. MCFC’s position is that this means that all of the APT rules are void, and have been since 2021,"

Citeh have them over a barrel ... irony is that the Premier League might have to pay damages to Citeh!
