It always gets twisted into somehow being about funding the unemployed. Fact is, high earners have been enabled by governments for some time now to pay less and less tax whilst at the same time funding for all sorts of things that benefit everyone (such as below examples) is no longer available, or just pittance remains -
- Infrastructure
- NHS
- Policing
- Transport
- Education
- Environment protection
- Housing
I'm sure I missed lots out, that was just off the top of my head.
We're at the point now where current and future generations simply do not have the same opportunities that previous ones did. If you're lucky enough to be born into a rich family then you might be ok, but many millions of people are not.
People are waking up and realising that a rebalancing needs to take place, but it's a hard fight against biased press & politicians who themselves gain from this.
