So I guess its time to bring you guys up to date on my position.

I think most of you know that I was diagnosed with stomach cancer back in May/June. The prognosis was good. I was to have 3 rounds of chemo, an operation to remove my stomach, 2 final rounds of chemo and I'd be sorted.

Well last week the chemo ended and I had another CT scan to see how the chemo had done and I returned to the hospital last Wednesday for my pre-op appointment.

Well unfortunately it hasn't worked in the way we'd hoped. The tumour has now grown into my pancreas. This means that the operation is pointless now and they can do no more for me other than to keep me going for as long as possible. There is the possibility of an immunotherapy trial which starts next month or some more chemo.

Anyway, we're talking just months now not years before it takes me and I may well not be around at the end of the season to see if we win promotion!

Its all a bit of a bugger really!!

Totally devastated for you mate, with what I have going on it is the last thing I expected to hear. Stay strong for all and give me a bell anytime, we do need a catch-up.

Love and best wishes from me and the girls..

Cheers guys.

Haven't lost my sense of humour yet so I'll still be around here for a laugh and some banter.

We’ll do our best to keep you entertained, fella. Gutted to hear of your news Burley, really truly am. You come across as a top, level-headed & fun bloke. Stay as strong as you can for as long as you can. Fingers crossed.

Jesus man, that's dreadful news. Keep as strong and as positive for those around you mate. If you believe in God, I hope he blesses you and looks after you on your future. I don't know how the hell people cope in situations like this.
All the best mate. Whatever happens, I wish you the smoothest ride possible.

Such a drama queen, always trying to be centre of attention with your 'look at me' posts.

Blunham/Burly (I'm assuming the code has been cracked by now) is and has probably been my favourite poster on this site since I was so warmly welcomed onto this board by all my SAFC bro's and ho's.

I'm not sure @Smug in Boots will object to me speaking on behalf of everybody this time, when I wish you all the best for the journey that you're going to travel now mate. You don't need told to keep fighting and being strong because we all know you're made of something special, it takes a very special kind of person to voluntarily mod this board back when it was Chaos City! You can beat whatever is put in your path B.

We all love you mate, you're a very kind and caring person and you have brought this board to life over the years along with the help from your good mates Joe, Smug, RAW, Rooch, Diddles, Grandpops... those of us who are younger may not have shown much humility, but between you all you've provided us younger lads (and I'm sure many older ones as well) with an honest and brutal look into your personal lives and that spread like wildfire on this board and for better or worse it made for great entertainment, and thanks for that Burly and co.

I guess what I'm trying to say is, thanks mate. I hope that your life is just throwing you a curveball and you'll get out of it, but no matter what road you are on right now, you will log onto this site and people like me will be here to tell you to man-up, stop moaning and get over yourself, because without the humour over all of these years we really wouldn't have much reason to log on in the first place.

Apart from the football circus that you lot seem to enjoy suffering in so relentlessly.

Speak soon B.

Tees mate, its a great idea and if we can sort something out, I'll be right up for it.

@rooch 3 me too mate.

And to everyone who's given me such warm words, I really appreciate it, as does my wife. For the first time in 7 years I've been showing her some of your posts.

She thinks everyone everywhere on social media are ****ing loopy-loos. You guys just shown her otherwise and she's genuinely humbled by it all.
