He scored 5 in 5 because he knows where the net is! then he got injured right? I'd be happy for him to come here but If I was Bruce I'd tell him to alter his goal scoring celebrations.

If we get him for £1m or less, it would be a bargain.
He would certainly be a useful addition to the squad and would help create depth and competition in the striker front.

Agreed ^^^^^^^^ this.

Finally!

I thought I was the only one.

5 goals in his first 5 games did it for the fans, he could do no wrong after that despite some pretty poor performances.

If we can get him for 500k then he'd be solid back up, any more and there's better options out there.

I don't think he impressed either, he scores goals. I never saw Gary Lineker or Keith Edwards have a good game either.

He is only here because the Allams agreed to sort his rehab out after he got injured here. No chance of him signing. Bruce was not impressed by him allegedly. It was just a marketing ploy to sell more shirts in Egypt.

I remember last summer, when Alex Bruce was training with us, and we mostly all were saying "he's just getting fit with us while he finds a new club" and "his dad's just helping him out" etc.

Next thing you know, he's spewing on pitches up and down the country, week in week out, in a City shirt.

Therefore, I confidently predict, Gedo will be a City player by the start of the season.

But, I personally don't think he looked good enough. I hope y'all are right when you say his dip in form was because of his foot.

Remember against Poland in '86, he stuck his foot out 3 times, final score 3-0 & he had a hat trick, probably missed another couple of chances in that game but history doesn't go on that or that he did nothing else in the game. The isn't really any players like it in today's game & that's what's missing. Only Owen & RVP could really be considered that in recent years as far as I can think & Owen lost it whilst RVP just likes to use his heel more than his toe to get them in, if only some kid in the academy watched Lineker or Edwards & wanted to be that player.

This is a bit different, he is rehabilitating his with us because it happened whilst he was playing for us. He's not training with us for a favour.

Well he's not going to play in Egypt the way things are going, I can see him permanently in England, might not be us, might not be PL but he must be pissed off with no football at home.
Why not give him a shot with us,I'm sure his current club would welcome some cash for someone who isn't going to play for a while.

I'm not saying he will, but if we was doing it for a favour, Fahti would be here too.

Interesting point. I think modern managers want more from their players though, every player needs to be an all-rounder now and the out-and-out striker is becoming less and less common. Many teams play 1 up front who is a target man playing with his back to goal all game and links play up more than he gets in the box and scores.

Think we'll see Gedo at some point..

1. As mentioned he needs to play & it won't happen in Egypt

2. Bruce will be monitoring his recovery/fitness progress as to when and whether he can play a part

3. No rush or panic since he won't go elsewhere due to our special relationship with Al Ahly & he's "off the radar"

4. Loan the most likely

5. Good enough to make an impact in PL & will relish the opportinity

6. Wages won't be an issue
