Teams that can score goals don't get relegated. This season is going to be fun - I suspect there are other targets for the january window too. Happy days...

Didn't think he did a lot.

A few fancy tricks but not a lot more today

Those fancy tricks were instrumental in creating two of our goals, though, and creating a couple other excellent chances. I'll happily take a player who doesn't give the ball away, is surprisingly good at winning possession, and creates a handful of definite scoring opportunities per game out of whole cloth...I'd consider that to be a rather terrific player, actually.

And let's not forget it was his first start for crying out loud. What's he going to be like when he's learnt how the setup works?

Going to put this one out there - best home debut (for different reasons) since Shearer? The man has a footballing brain and that will lift the other players to make different runs & play with a more positive intent. When Tiss was at his best, the likes of Dowie/Maskell etc made positive runs *knowing* that he was good enough to find them. I honestly think the same thing will start happening the more GR gets integrated.

Never mind the doubters, and ignore them again if we lose to an excellent Everton team, this is an exciting time to be a Saints fan.

Remember Bale's debut? Might have been an away game now I think about it.

Yes, I would also happily nosh him off etc etc...

But serious bit, when he was signed there were legitimate comments that he could be a great player but would he fit into the hard working Saints side or get muscled out of the Premier League altogether, well he battled, nudged, pushed as well as anyone out there. When he challenged Darren Bent in midfield who went down looking for the free kick, I knew he was the man.

You need to get your eyes checked mate.

Strewth not sure what game you were at RLGB...... because it sure as hell was not the match against villa.........
Granted Ramirez had a better second half from the first ....but he was in truth man of the match by far.
