Garry Monk seems decent enough
Frying pan …fire… comes to mind. he inherited a pretty attacking gleam in Swansea, which under his management lost its way. His win ratio is some 38% I think but in his second season that was dramatically reduced. He was a CB and I think therein lies the clue. We need someone DIFFERENT in philosophy IMHO

Allardyce was a centre half and his philosophy is pretty attack minded. There aren't a lot of managers available who would come to City that are better or equal to Bruce. Allardyce for me would be good; Sherwood or Monk satisfactory. Would anyone want McClaren? There's the rub. Who else is there to go for who would realistically come here?

As I said before I'd love McClaren as head coach. Several players have said his sessions are unreal. Just get him under a bloke who can run the team...

Same, I rate him. He has history with us and is a decent coach. Doubt he'd want to play second fiddle to someone else at a Championship club. He'd want to be manager.

True, but being associated to success is good as a bridge. He went to QPR to coach and it got him the Derby gig.

Maybe, but he's at that point in his career where he'd probably want to manage a Championship team and have another go at getting promotion. With the right players I reckon he could build a team, like Burnley's, capable of doing that. We'll see.

McClaren is too hit and miss.
I just dont think he is consistent enough.

As is Bruce, as is any manager mentioned on this thread. If we were talking about consistent managers they'd be plying their trade in the PL. Even Pulis, a man considered to be the epitome of consistently over the years has managed a Palace in the lower half this year.

yes Steve McC has history with us, but so has that boring ****, Nigel P
...... should we take him back?
how about Brownie?
IF we get up, Id love for Rafa to come here, but I dont think were a big enough club for him.

Mick McCarthy? Respectable finish with Ipswich. Could raid a few of their players.
