Poor. Be interesting to see how Monk would manage a EL campaign as well.

I read West Ham were sniffing about Mink as well somewhere today.

The trouble with the EL is that we didn't have a big enough squad, and imo Laudrup favoured the EL to further his own reputation and as a result, put our PL status in huge jeopardy. As our current squad stands, should we keep our strongest 16-17 players, we would still be 6-8 quality players short of competing in the EL.

Definitely rate Monk as one of the better up and coming managers. But I'm always reluctant to judge managers as good bad or indifferent as ultimately it's the players who earn the manager his keep. People say Ferguson Mourinho Guardiola etc are world class mangers truth is they've always had world class players so is it the managers or the players they buy or have coming through the youth team?

said this for a long time now ,be careful what you wish for ,if a club has not got the resources it can cripple your league status with injuries and such like never mind the wage bill for a complete squad with rotation of players ,most clubs do not support this like the top half dozen do.

Monk gave Ki a fair crack of the whip. Something ML wouldn't do. Ki has been fantastic this season. Ki was made scapegoat by sections of our fans when his a form deteriorated but he was playing with an injury. Proper next level player I wish we had back. @The Ultimate Mackem thinks he's **** <laugh>

Been our best player this season. Simply unplayable at times <ok>

I'd say most of us do rate him highly, but one or two think the sun shines out of King Laudrup's arse and won't give Monk any credit at all. For his first season as a manager and having to rebuild and sort out MLs mess, he's been nothing short of outstanding this season.

If you had to state his strengths as a manager what would you say? Like pretty much everyone I thought it would be a disastrous appointment but far from it. I'm just curious what a Swans fan thinks about him, he's obviously doing a good job but what in particular is he doing well?

Been linked to West Ham as well. I imagine he's told his agent to get his name out in the papers either for an improved contract or a guarantee of funds.

Don't think he's got any intention of leaving.

I'll give my reply when I have more time later.
