If we win the title we get into the group stages of the CL - hard to turn downyou must admit?

We wont be selling him next January window as no club likes to sell at that time thas why I guess about 18 months <ok>
If the alternative is to play Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester, Liverpool, Tottenham, I think it's much of a muchness and he'll stand a chance of progressing beyond that.

Fulham get a place in europe every season for fair play as well. He could probably get a job with them.

I do accept that Signing for us now is a risk. He could potentially be playing Champions league next season or Championship football.

Equally he could be playing premier league football or SPL.

Doubt Lennon gives a **** about which club he goes to as long as it's for the right money, why would he?

Its called good man management.

We as fans appreciate we are not world beaters, there has to be a kind of pecking order in the world of football. Lennon as manager also appreciates this hence he is looking to bring in young talented players, hungry for success to get the club successful and when the times right move them on at a hefty profit.

He has helped nurture Hoopers raw talent & as a young enthusiastic manager will be proud of that & I imagine will have an eye on Hoopers development wherever the two end up - just as your manager has from when he had him at Scunthorpe.

He will also have faith that Hooper can cut it at the very top level which means a top EPL side..........obviously Lennon will also have an interest in this because a top EPL side will also offer more money!!

What Lennon has been through has bought all the squad and staff together, team spirit is great - it woks both ways <ok>

Thought we'd given up on Hooper now..? Time for the Celtic to return north of the border, isn't it..?

I think we have. I think it's just on a point of principle now. Having cross posted threads doesn't easily allow for threads like this to die a natural death.

Accept he might not join a team in the CL, why not wait a year experience CL football which will improve his pedigree a fair deal more then experience the EPL playing against teams like that?

A very fair argument. Might only be two games against a club like Malmo though. In which case it's vastly inferior. No better than our Two games against Steauauauauauaua a few years back really, except you get to play in the wafer for losing. (trust us to get into europe the year before group stages) edit: i forgot we still got to play against all the top premier league teams.

There's an argument for staying until the end of the transfer window to see if you're knocked out or leaving in january when you most likely will have been.

We qualify direct to group stages so can guarentee him 6 games <laugh>

As said before we are in decent financial state so no need to sell star players he will be asked to stay until the summer this year or next so we can scout & ready made replacement & get the best deal we can for our top scorer should he desire to move.

His statements certainly don't suggest he wants out, the media focussed on him staying he wanted to stay but not many mentioned the rest of it where he again mentions his strike partnership with Stokes and there quest to outscore one another - hardly worth mentioning if you want out

This is new is it? Presumably a big club gets drawn in each group of tiddlers. So two games against champions league quality guaranteed and a couple of days out abroad. How many qualify out of the group?

I've no idea of his ambitions and in his position, sure i'd be happy to have won a SPL title as something to cross off the mediocre footballer's checklist, i wouldn't see winning a second as a worthwhile year spent.

It changes every season based on the countres co-effiecent points as to who gets automatic qualification etc.

We have a decent record in the group stages to be fair, getting there seems to be the ****ing problem!!! We have qualified from groups with Man Utd, Milan in with a game to spare - qualified to the knockout stages 3 times in a row only to draw the likes of Milan, Barcelona in the next round!!

Is this a Celtic forum or is it a forum for a Championship side that is more use to fighting relegation
than vieing for promotion for one year in the WEPL.
I would have thought those success starved Southampton fans would have got the message.
Gary Hooper Says NO
Neil Lennon says NO
Celtic Fans says NO

Why the Hell can they not accept it and settle themselves back playing in the Championship.

Wrong You are not allowed to interfere with a player during his contract unless given permission.
Celtic have said the bids are unhelpful. Hooper not interested either.
So Southampton are not allowed to bid. Unsettling players not allowed.

IT's not a celtic forum unless your stadium is decked out in red and white. Not sure what a WEPL is.

Success starved? If we got a trophy for doing better than Portsmouth we'd have a lot and if we got into europe for doing it we'd have had an advantage in the transfer market and probably hold our own in similar fashion by now.

But we did take more people to wembley for a tin pot trophy than attend the scottish cup final.

We've moved on from hooper going to saints, thanks buddy.

What? We've not made our bids public. It's totally legit to bid for whoever you want as long as you're not contacting the player.
