Sorry but I'm so bored with transfer talk, the window doesn't even open for another 3/4 months. I'd much rather talk about things that go on, on the pitch, that football game we play. The media speculation just feeds the bitters that are jealous we've got such a great player and feel pretty stupid for dismissing Bale all this time.

Has he got a clause in his contract? We don't know and I doubt the Daily Star know either.

Back to football, watch this...

Great player!

As I said in Bodanki's "Bale - How much?" thread, I just don't get why he'd want to go to Real.

if he moves, he'll get paid a fortune where ever he goes. - so it doesn't need to be Real Madrid
Modric has completely flopped.
Mourinho's future is uncertain
They have been second fiddle to Barca for years.

so, what will he win? maybe a domestic cup.

Bale should just take time to have a look at what's happened to British players who have gone to Spain, as well as recent transfers out of the premiership, such as song and Modric.

The grass isn't always greener. The premier league is where he needs to stay as the football is suited to his game.

Now, however, Bale has emerged as the most outstanding player in the land of cash and controversy and is odds on to win the Player of the Year award.

This was brought up by McCarthy the guest journo on SSN this morning, and pointed out that Bales exceptional form has only been the last 2 months or so, what was Bales first half of the season about...diving! Now without going into what was and what wasn't, that fact remains the media was full of it. Also talks are ongoing about bringing in retrospective video action on simulation, so its a hot media subject, and for that reason, it may stain his chances.

I said at the start of the season I still think Bale will be here for at least another year or two and I stand by that. He seems really happy with everything and everyone. Fans, players and staff clearly love him and I think he shares similar feelings. Being here, he's being regarded as one of the best in the world too, SOME people may prefer to keep it this way than risk moving abroad and potentially flopping (though I think Bale can get into any teams 1st XI and make an immediate impact) and I hope Gareth falls into that category, at least for the foreseeable future.
The fact he's also recently had a daughter, I think that'll be another reason to stay here in England for a bit longer. I highly doubt his partner will want to move abroad yet and I reckon Bale wouldn't want to go out there without his family. For all we know, Alba Violet Bale may have just rubber stamped Bale's stay here for another couple of seasons.

Besides, for a club to actually get permission to speak to Bale, they're gonna have to fork out £60m+ in my opinion.

What you basing this on?

Victoria Beckham was living in Madrid with young children/babies.

she was about 28 and happily married for a few years when Beckham signed though.

It's a lot to ask for a much younger girl who's just had a kid.

Their whole family's close too. They were saying on SSN this morning that his Grandad goes to all of his games.

All this rubbish will continue until

All this transfer rubbish will continue until Bale retires in ten years time having won the champions league several times with Spurs

There was a media snippet from Harry once where after a particularly draining few games he gave Bale some time off and told him to go on holiday. He jumped in his car and went to...........WALES!

Ryan Giggs was constantly linked with moves abroad (Italy was the place to be then) but he never showed any inclination to go. No club ever, so far as I'm aware, confirmed that they had made a concrete bid for him. It's rare for foreign clubs to pay top dollar for British players. Few adapt well to the cultural changes and few have skills which transfer easily from the cut and thrust of the PL to the more patient game played in Italy or Spain. Of course, good players should be able to play anywhere, but there are many high profile failures.

Will Real Madrid pay a fortune for a player largely unproven at top level competition? He's not played abroad, he's not won honours, he's not been consistently at the top of his game for a long period- so it's a gamble. It's a gamble for Bale too. And Real don't even know who their manager will be at the end of the season or what players any new manager might want to buy/sell, do they?

It really is just idle gossip.

I remember that, might have been after the Inter games, we had a bit of a break and you're right, Harry told him to go and have a couple of days in the sun somewhere. Bale said no thanks, I'll just go home and see my mum!

Real beat Barca at the Camp Nou last night, so they are more than a match for Barca. Also, Mourinho looks likely to move on in the summer, so a new manager and possibly a new president will make a lot of noise about signing new players. It's basically how they get elected to the job in Spain.

But if he really is a home loving lad and prefers to say in the premier league, maybe he'll move closer to home and join Utd ?

And don't forget, VB is and always has been a media slut - not to mention the archetypal WAG!! She will go for the highest profile location she can to advance her own standing. Hence no doubt the link to Paris now to assist her career in Haut Couteur!!

I don't see Mrs Bale hogging the headlines......

I didn't realise he was from Cardiff, I thought he might be a Gog. Still, Manchester could provide a good option if he decides he wants to stay in the premier league, if he leaves Spurs.

You're trying to compare the Beckham's to a young couple, that's just had their first baby?

Romeo and Brooklyn were about 4 and 2 before they moved to Madrid and Cruz was born in Madrid.

Bale's baby is about 4 months old and the couple themselves are about 5 or 6 years younger than what the Beckham's were when they moved, there's a big difference.

Think logically, no young newly crowned mother is going to want to leave the country so short after having a baby are they?

Piskie, I don't know if you're wumming here or not, so I'll answer sensibly.

So Real beat Barca in a cup game last night? 1 game? and it was a cup game. - which highlights my point further about Bale only winning domestic cups if he leaves! <laugh>
Real have won the league once in the last 4 years, and we all know Barca are the better footballing side. - there's no guarantees with RM.

In the thread Bodanki made, I actually said that IF he's going to leave, I believe United would be the best for him. They're a club who are winners, in the best league in the world. - and this league is where he needs to remain.
I personally think Bale should stay as his development is coming along nicely, but if he left for united, I would wish him well. If a move was to happen, it's a much better one than any of the others, IMO.

But I don't see why he'd want to, or needs to leave us, to be honest?

Blackburn beat Arsenal at the Emirates last week, so they're more than a match for Arsenal.
