I didn't realise he was from Cardiff, I thought he might be a Gog. Still, Manchester could provide a good option if he decides he wants to stay in the premier league, if he leaves Spurs.

Yes Manchester could well be a good option, especially as we all know how much your players like taking a trip up Manchester now don't we? They really like it up there.

PISKIE you seem to be stuck in permawum mode. Unless you're going to come up with something interesting/relevant/new I suggest you toddle off back to your board where you and your goon chums can mutually masturbate over the invincible season and other distant memories.

I think you need to check your own responses to see who's trying to be a wum here.

You're trying to compare the Beckham's to a young couple, that's just had their first baby? Yes, I'm using an example of a player who moved to Madrid with young kids

Romeo and Brooklyn were about 4 and 2 before they moved to Madrid and Cruz was born in Madrid. Romeo was 10 months old

Bale's baby is about 4 months old and the couple themselves are about 5 or 6 years younger than what the Beckham's were when they moved, there's a big difference. Baby would be 10 months old probably, and couple would be 4 years younger, nothing stops them taking parents with them, consider how much family South American's bring with them to Europe

Think logically, no young newly crowned mother is going to want to leave the country so short after having a baby are they? Is this actual logic or just your opinion? Because I know a girl who is probably 23 just had a baby and she was prepared to go play abroad when her fella was release by a prem club last season as she will do anything to support her partner

There's much more logic in him moving for an extra £7m per year before tax than there is him staying so his baby can get a bit older.

<laugh> The fact you've clearly wiki'd their exact ages is brilliant.

Yes, it's my opinion but it's also logical. A young Mother is not going to be looking at moving abroad not long after having her first child. Home comforts and the support of family is much more warming than an extra bit of dosh in a foreign country.

Bit different when her fella is released from a club, they're clearly going to be desperate for the money... Bale's earning around £90k-£100k a week here plus bonuses, bit different don't you think? There's no NEED to move.

Where's this extra £7m per year you've heard of coming from? Is that assumption or facts?

The tax rate is going to change/has changed in Spain, its worse than ours, its the reason Ronaldo chucked a strop last year, as it affects half the salary during his contract.

Piskie, I don't know if you're wumming here or not, so I'll answer sensibly.

So Real beat Barca in a cup game last night? 1 game? and it was a cup game. - which highlights my point further about Bale only winning domestic cups if he leaves! <laugh>
Real have won the league once in the last 4 years, and we all know Barca are the better footballing side. - there's no guarantees with RM.

In the thread Bodanki made, I actually said that IF he's going to leave, I believe United would be the best for him. They're a club who are winners, in the best league in the world. - and this league is where he needs to remain.
I personally think Bale should stay as his development is coming along nicely, but if he left for united, I would wish him well. If a move was to happen, it's a much better one than any of the others, IMO.

But I don't see why he'd want to, or needs to leave us, to be honest?

The answer is yes!.

<laugh> The fact you've clearly wiki'd their exact ages is brilliant. Was some weird shrine to the Beckham's website actually! Best to deal with facts though.

Home comforts and the support of family is much more warming than an extra bit of dosh in a foreign country. Unless you can have both, which is even better...something any club would look to facilitate

There's no NEED to move. Bit presumptuous of you mate, he was paid off his last year with a very healthy figure cash was last thing on their minds

Where's this extra £7m per year you've heard of coming from? Is that assumption or facts?
I've had a guess that he's on £70k now and would be on £200k at a club like Madrid, that's just salary of course...a team like Madrid would launch 'Brand Bale' into another level too... It's assumption

Let me throw you one or two...

Why not Manchester then?

Have you ever considered being a midwife, you seem to know a lot about newly 'crowned' mothers?

objectively, if i was advising Mr Bale i would say ride the wave you are on for another season as you are still young and see where this team/manager goes. I would not advise Madrid and would point out Mr Modric and the likelihood of a new manager. I would be wary of Utd currently as sooner or later Fergie is gonna either retire or die, how they get on after that is anyone's guess.
City - no. Only mercenaries should go there, and likely to be changing manager too.
Chelsea - arguably no better than Spurs, why move there and risk all you have worked for? Also likely to be changing manager.

So, if for nothing more than timing i would advise to sit tight and reassess in a year.

Of course, the non-family people advising Gareth are only interested in getting paid for making him move, which is a problem. They aren't interested in how his career goes, just that he moves for the most money possible.

Edit - Bayern would be my first choice for a move this summer. IF he was moving that is.

First off you talk of dealing with facts then end it on assumptions... And how was I meant to know he was paid off when your initial words were "he got released", being released suggests his contract ran out and the club decided against retaining him.

No reason against him moving to Manchester, providing one of them meet Levy's estimation and Bale wants to move up north. It's a more viable option for Bale and his family rather moving abroad to completely new surroundings/ cultures/ languages etc.

I'll think about it, thanks for the suggestion.

IMO, there is absolutely no way that Levy would ever sanction his sale to a Premiership rival. If he even considered it, it would have to be for a bid so ridiculously high that it had to be taken seriously.

Don't worry about the insecurity of your fellow spurs fans, my questions and comment are all valid. Yes Barca are still the team to beat, but Real showed that they can be beaten and they did it fairly comprehensively too. I'm not sure if a domestic cup is all they are likely to achieve either, I think they are one of the teams who are likely to win the Champions League possibly this season, and each season they are right up there with the best of Europe.

I think Real will come in with a big offer for him in the summer and Spurs would probably want to sell him abroad, rather than to another premier league team, but I agree with you that for him, on a personal level, Man Utd would probably be the best move for him. Giggs is in the twilight of his career and Bale would be a perfect replacement. I don't particularly want to see him at Utd as I think they would be strengthened further with his signing, but he does look like he'd be a perfect fit there.

Bale and Wilshere to Utd then as replacements for Giggs and Scholes.
Expect it in the papers soon.
I would expect Wilshere to make the trip sooner than Bale.

And how was I meant to know he was paid off when your initial words were "he got released", being released suggests his contract ran out and the club decided against retaining him. Calculated assumption, anyone here expect him to be paid anything less? Didn't think so. As for my mate, I said he was released, I didn't say he was on the breadline so I have no idea where you get the idea he was desperate from.

I didn't come here to debate Bale leaving or not, it's pointless doing so around these parts, the only reason I commented was because it's ludicrous to think a young man and his mrs wouldn't make a career move because of a new born baby or their age. By that logic, you don't think Jack Wilshere would move abroad either for atleast another 7 years until he is the same age that Beckham was when he moved out there. It's ridiculous, to even consider these things when you're talking about a business transaction with a value of probably (at a guess) over £100m all in from the buyer. It's the height of naivety to think big clubs wait patiently for players, clubs like Madrid are not going to sit and watch a player they want waste more (possibly the best given the explosive pace of Bale) years of their career at another club, they make their move and when they do they usually win. One cruciate or even a nasty hamstring could turn Bale into the next Michael Owen, from your owner's point of view that's like entering his 1961 Ferrari 250 GT into the Indy 500. Every Saturday.

Wilshere questions:
1 - does he have a long term girlfriend/wife?
2 - does he have a young child?
3 - is he very family orientated?
4 - is he at a club that will win a trophy this decade?
5 - is he a nicely, homely young man or an utter twat?

Answers:
1 - I don't know. I hope for her sake no
2 - I don't know this either, but i hope for the childs sake no
3 - I actually know very little about Wilshere, but from what i've seen, no
4 - No
5 - twat

Just a few reasons why you may expect Bale to stay and Wilshere to go

<ok> Seems reasonable.

1. I wouldnt wipe my arse with the Faily Star.
2. Levy isnt stupid.
3. Levy wouldnt put a clause like this in Bale`s contract.
4. Levy will decide when Bale leaves and where to.
