I didn't come here to debate Bale leaving or not, it's pointless doing so around these parts, the only reason I commented was because it's ludicrous to think a young man and his mrs wouldn't make a career move because of a new born baby or their age. By that logic, you don't think Jack Wilshere would move abroad either for atleast another 7 years until he is the same age that Beckham was when he moved out there. It's ridiculous, to even consider these things when you're talking about a business transaction with a value of probably (at a guess) over £100m all in from the buyer. It's the height of naivety to think big clubs wait patiently for players, clubs like Madrid are not going to sit and watch a player they want waste more (possibly the best given the explosive pace of Bale) years of their career at another club, they make their move and when they do they usually win. One cruciate or even a nasty hamstring could turn Bale into the next Michael Owen, from your owner's point of view that's like entering his 1961 Ferrari 250 GT into the Indy 500. Every Saturday.

I've no doubt that if Real do have the £60mil plus that Levy will demand, they may just get him. Levy has already reportedly indicated that £50mil is just the starting point of any negotiations.

1. I wouldnt wipe my arse with the Faily Star.
2. Levy isnt stupid.
3. Levy wouldnt put a clause like this in Bale`s contract.
4. Levy will decide when Bale leaves and where to.

this sounds like the the beginning of one of those Chuck Norris threads, but for Levy.

Opening round:
Real Madrid: £50m?
Levy: No

Don't worry about the insecurity of your fellow spurs fans, my questions and comment are all valid. Yes Barca are still the team to beat, but Real showed that they can be beaten and they did it fairly comprehensively too. I'm not sure if a domestic cup is all they are likely to achieve either, I think they are one of the teams who are likely to win the Champions League possibly this season, and each season they are right up there with the best of Europe.

I think Real will come in with a big offer for him in the summer and Spurs would probably want to sell him abroad, rather than to another premier league team, but I agree with you that for him, on a personal level, Man Utd would probably be the best move for him. Giggs is in the twilight of his career and Bale would be a perfect replacement. I don't particularly want to see him at Utd as I think they would be strengthened further with his signing, but he does look like he'd be a perfect fit there.

you must be a bit upset that your Seniorside were beaten last night :emoticon-0116-evilg

And that's how levy will be thinking. - And rightly so. Unfortunately, the premier league loses another fantastic player (if it happens).

The sooner Ronaldo comes back, the better. I couldn't care less if he makes United much stronger, the guy is class and is wasted in a league with just 2 teams who battle it out each season.

If it's pointless debating in these parts, whether it be about Bale or anything else, why come on to this board so frequently?

Finding it ludicrous is your opinion. I personally don't find a settled, young family staying put for the time being as ludicrous, though clearly we share different views on that.

You're trying to put words into my mouth by suggesting anything to do with Wilshere, I couldn't give a toss about him nor could I care if he stayed or left Arsenal now or in "7 years". He's not the one being linked with a move abroad - though for the record, he did come out and say not so long ago that he'd love to stay at Arsenal for his career, in footballing terms we all know that's likely to be bollocks but they were his words.

It's also "the height of naivity" to assume Bale will jump ship at the first opportunity when someone like Madrid comes calling. Many players have moved abroad and noticed the grass isn't always greener, Modric being a recent and prime example, he's had a front row ticket for most of Madrid's games this season.

I've no doubt Bale will eventually leave us to join a bigger club, he's a world class player that can get into any team's first XI but there's no rush for him to leave just yet because bigger clubs come sniffing. He and his family are settled here, he's still developing (at a brilliant rate), he's idolised by fans - and he seems to share a similar feeling, he's playing in the biggest league in the world and his current form is propelling him into the international limelight of footballing superstars.

I've said it at least ten times before, and now I'll say it an eleventh time...

Bale is going no where.

I saw an interview that he gave to some internet-based sports program, and it was patently evident to anyone with even half a brain that Bale loves being at Spurs, and that he loves the squad. He was very complimentary about what Spurs were doing and where he thought we are headed. He spoke like a player who seems himself as part of something big at Spurs, not a mercenary bit-player, who will cash in his chips any time soon.

We are long over-due another Hoddle or Ledley, someone who sees himself as a Spurs Legend-in-the-making, and I'd put good money on it being Bale.

The PESKIEs of this world spout their bile because (a) they think they are being clever, and (b) they are (quite rightly) terrified that we will go on to achieve things that they have consistently failed to achieve over the past decade.

HIAG, even you must find Piskie's last post pretty funny. He's done ya with one of your own quotes mate! <laugh>

Gareth, Sepp Blatter has a message for you regarding you compatriot and idol, and he's talking sense for once!

What Blatter doesn't say is this...

Club
Manchester United
FA Community Shield (8): 1993, 1994, 1996, 1997, 2003, 2007, 2008, 2010
UEFA Champions League (2): 1998–99, 2007–08
UEFA Super Cup (1): 1991
Intercontinental Cup (1): 1999
FIFA Club World Cup (1): 2008

This is a list of the honours won by Ryan Giggs.

I'm sure that if we were in the position to offer Bale the opportunity to win even half of those honours, we would have no trouble hanging on to him.
