Makes no difference the opposition. That kind of goal is down to the skill of one player. When it’s executed like that it’s unstoppable.

So the occasion matters but not the opposition?

It's funny actually, I argued that Rooney's overhead kick beats Can's all day long due to the fact it was a Manchester Derby and vs City but several others screamed that the execution is all that counts.

I do think the opposition counts mind, De Gea saves that every time, Karius is a flapping *****.

De Gea isn’t getting anywhere near that.

We can argue all day about which is best, all I pointed out was to do something like that under the pressure and global spotlight of a CL final is something special.

Definitely. I agree it was a special goal. Ronnie's was probably a bit better for me though, given he was being marked by arguably the best defence in the world. The opposition simply has to count. That's my opinion, it can't be wrong.

I reckon Dave Saves that every time btw. You clearly don't appreciate the greatness of DDG.

We’ll agree to disagree.

You lot would have cried tears of joy for weeks and then started a petition for a statue if that'd have hit the back of De Gea's net off Stevie Me's shin.
Ya. It’s true. But I hope I’d have the sense to call it more luck than refined technique at its finest.

At least 25% luck when one like that goes in. Everyone always raves about bicycle kicks, but there's no way on earth the player executing it knows where the hell it's going.

65% athleticism, 25% luck, 10% skill <ok>

Always looks good though.

Majority of football fans will remember Bale's goal for years to come because it was scored in the final ... Ronaldo's not so much ...because it was not ... simples ...<cheers>

Majority of football fans are ****ing idiots though. In fact most "fans" don't even go to football.

I will always remember this because I was there, and despite being behind the goal at the other end, I knew from the second it left his boot that it was going in...

Paul Scholes would love to see Gareth Bale in a Manchester United shirt next season but feels a potential transfer is unrealistic.
(Sky Sports)

@Matth_2014 will be devastated by this news.

I hope he doesn’t post another flounce thread.

I don't think any of us believe he's going to be here next season mate. He would have been here by now if he wanted to play for us and we wanted him here.
