I'm not saying we should only go for young players, but younger players, say 26/27 which can have a role at the club for the next 3 or so years.
Thought he had a good game today but his legs have nearly gone. He couldn't perform at a consistent level for 46 games next season, therefore so long Rich. I heard he was joining Perth in the Aussie league..
I disagree, one thing this squad doesn't need is more young players, we need experienced heads who can help bring the youngsters through.
I have no idea what money Garcia will be on, but since he signed a deal in January and is desperate to stay I can't see where we'll get anyone his quality for the same price.
Personally I think he'll head down under to play next season in Oz.

Been a good servant to the club.
I saw etc.....There is a difference between the words....'nearly' and 'have' nearly does not mean have....Selective reading me thinks...
Garcia - 'Don't think there is any chance of the club renewing my contract'
Barmby - 'At this moment we're not sure. Garc has kept his cards close to his chest. He's out of contract and well within his rights to go and speak to other clubs. If he does and if he goes, he goes with our blessing because he's been outstanding for us. We'll be sorry to see him leave.'
Amongst other comments, Garcia makes it sound as if he wants a new deal but he won't get one, whilst Barmby makes it sound like Garcia isn't keen. Something doesn't add up anyway.
He stalled over a new deal last summer and only signed because of the injury. I think he'll be gone even if we offer him a new deal.

that's typical football talk. Nobody tells the truth !

I think they're both just covering themselves under all this uncertainty. If he signs, then great. But if he goes, Garcia looks as though he's leaving reluctantly, whilst Barmby looks as though he was happy for Garcia to stay but the player decided to leave.
