I think we should definitely give him time, he's young, pacey and has some skills. Also with the money we've spent it pretty much a literal replacement for Routledge. When you look at it like that then who's complaining?! As long as we still spend the rest of the money as well.

I don't think he's bad at all. A good squad player to have, I reckon.

Definitely better than people make out.

    Gooner in peace

You really have screwed up signing obertan. Every game i saw him play, he was rubbish. Theres only one way it could be worse. You could have signed Bebe.

Mmm.. better than nothing I guess. Atleast he's decent cover/competition right? He's got bags of skill and pace. Let's just wait and see what happens. A loan deal would have definitely been much better though!

Well hey atleast we didn't get Bebe! <yikes>

many worse players we could've got. He could turn out to be decent enough. Playing for a genuine starting spot rather than knowing he won't make it ...

Who was #12 for us? Obertan made mincemeat out of him on more than one occasion

It's amazing how many people are so quick to slag him off without having even hardly watched him play, he's hardly been prolific has he?

    Give him a chance ffs.

I hope people give him a chance at least. From what I've seen he's got talent, I just don't think he quite knows how to use it yet (if that makes sense). He can dribble brilliantyl, that's for sure.

Hes 22 so is still young, if Fergie signed him then he must have seen something in him. Routledge went for £2million and I'm sure given playing time Obertan will be better than Routledge so for an extra £1million it isnt too bad. He hasn't played many games in English football yet so may still need time to adjust. It has taken some of our players long enough.

Amazing ball skills, reminds me of Gutierez a bit whereby he doesn't really know what to do with the ball. But you never know, could turn out to be a wonder signing. Or it could be the most frustrating season ever with jonas and Obertan on the wings!
