Evening gents, for those who don't know yet, we've agreed to sign Gabriel Obertan, and I'd just like to gauge some opinions on the signing. For me personally it's a pretty underwhelming one, but still better than **** all eh?

Agree, he has to be given a chance to prove himself but the thing that gets me is - he wasn't given a chance at United and Fergie knows a player when he sees one surely

He has age on his side though in fairness, so if it does go tits up atleast he'll still be attractive to other teams in that respect and retain some or most of his value

As I've already said last year he looked out of his depth against Crawley, very underwhelmed that we've waited 7 weeks for a signing for us to sign Obertan.

Well Simpson is at least good enough back up for us, so hopefully Obertan will be at least that? :\

Laurent Blanc knew he was **** when he let him leave Bordeaux

Could have just been player power though mate, I mean if United come knocking there's very few players who wouldn't want to go there and maybe Blanc just didn't want to stay in his way, considering he's played for United himself before

So I guess when Pardew rang Ferguson up about twitter Fergie used his sales skills and reeled him in? hook, line and sinker

He hasn't exactly set the world alight but he looks very quick and can cause some decent danger down the line. Passing look good but crossing seems poor and dribbling the ball could and should be worked on straight away. Plays left and right also!

Hasn't featured much for ManUre, so not much to go off but this is my judgement so far. In summary, it's Routledge only he's younger and can still develop!
