everyone seem to think that we should have just "pushed the boat out" and gone for it. "People that don't learn from their mistakes are doomed to repeat them".. we "pushed the boat out" in our first stint in the BPL and our club nearly got liquidated in 2012.. I dont think a local business man would come in again after watching what we do, if we bankrupted AA. I dont know what some of you expect, I really don't.

I'm not sure what that's got to do with the displays against Lokeren.

That makes no sense, people just wanted us to play our best players, not go out and buy a load of new one's. <doh>

Personally, I think it was a mistake as we're unlikely to get there again any time soon and as this is a Hull City forum, I'll say so, but it doesn't mean I'm incapable of also seeing the bigger picture and appreciating the other things that are happening.

Though I find the £2-3m investment in the academy far more impressive than any £10m signing.

So are you saying that the team played at Lokeren were not (or should have been good enough) to beat a Sunday League side? I understand disappointment, but I think logic and sensible appraisal is better. We have players who turn up when it suits them; today was a very good example.
