6.45 Musselburgh Rural Celebration 11/8 I've had a hefty bet on David O'Meara's 2 year old as I think she'll win this comfortably and I'm shocked to see such a big price available for her. Given a very favourable mention by her trainer in his recent stable tour, Rural Celebration made her debut at Wolves earlier this month where she really should have won but went down by a short head to the more experienced Blockade who went into the contest with a good level of form. Rural Celebration was slowly away over the 5f trip under David Bergin and lost a good few lengths as she was settled at the rear of the field. Going around the bend, Bergin attempted to go for a non existent gap on the fence which slightly checked Rural Celebration's momentum and she was about 5L behind the front running Blockade turning into the home straight but she stayed on really, really strongly to nearly snatch victory late on and she definitely would have gotten up with another stride. That was an extremely promising debut and I think she'll have learnt an awful lot from that experience. She makes her turf debut today on her 2nd start and in this 4 contest I think she's going to take an awful lot of beating. Stable jockey Danny Tudhope takes over in the plate for the in form O'Meara yard and I'll be very disappointed if Rural Celebration can't dispose of this field comfortably.
Did Richard Hughes think it was a mile race? got to be more pro active than that surely, got to feel Moore or Fallon would have forced through that gap with the horse clearly going so well. I feel Wentworth will go on this season and contest some big races, but the form book will say beaten by Piscean bizarrely.
Bloody hell badger. Magic City wins at 16/1 and Relentless Harry wins at 9/2. Excellent. Good luck with the other two. PS How unlucky was that 20/1 4th
not sure how he got that beat. could of turned round and gone past the others he had so much horse under him. never got to see the head on, but im sure he had more room to work with. Didn't exactly throw the kitchen sink at it either when he got out.
Really nice performance that. Rotten 35p Rule 4 but still paid a little bigger than 5/2. I think the race pretty much fell apart but can't do much more than win like that.
I know mate a bit of a pisser that! I wouldn't have minded if favourite had gone in but for it to be an outsider annoys me a bit just hope Jamesie Hall can oblige later on
Keep an eye on whispering lady NTO... just blew the start by 10 - 15l and although finished last was barely 2-3l down
Erm, should we presume, then, that you have lost honourable ass betting on the flat? Sounds like it, BoS..............Have to agree though, NH racing is much more interesting, You know, I don't think bookies like it that much 'cos it takes them longer to win some money. Well remember one of them grumbling away about a race taking so long. Poor fellow, felt very sorry for him....
Badger: Great tipping, well done; you weren't far out with Miss Lahar either (ns, nk, 3/4). Good luck with your final pick at Cork.
