This, the day that I turn into one of those fans expecting to win everything and not be that bothered when trophies come along, then I will forget football altogether. Even after the 2014 Capital One Cup, drinking in London, an outsider wouldn’t have been able to tell you which colours had won. Had we been victorious, London would have knew about it. And I remember that Watford day only too well, we done the conga outside all of the way back to the coaches, again you'd think we had won. The top end of football is spoilt, it’s all about them, the cups, the leagues, with a few smatterings of small timers in between. We go to watch our team win, it doesn’t always end that way but so what, it’s my team, my club and I will do anything to protect it. I won’t go into hiding because we have spiralled from The Premier League to the 3rd tier, I take pride in that we still take thousands home and away. No one will take that away, but it also doesn’t mean I have to support crooked owners. I have been here a lot longer and so has the club, it will be there in some shape or form for many years to come, I might not be, but I want a league club that my son can be proud of and make no bones about it, despite being born and spending his formative years in Leicester, he sure is. I meet up with the Melton lads on a few occasions as well. Lads who have no affiliation to the City of Sunderland whatsoever, but attended a game and got the buzz. You will see their flag all over the country and I have been behind it a few times, standing proud with them. There comes a time when defiance and pride overcomes everything, and we laugh in the face of it ....
.... we started doing a conga at Watford when it was 5-0 and carried on well after it was 8-0.
We outsung the home support on one of their biggest days ffs.
F**k it, we are Sunderland!
