Thing is mate, I regularly change the location, sex and position of people who give me info.

That ensures that if they check the forum they know I'm not compromising them.

Adversely it means other people, who know the facts, look at my posts and think I've been misinformed.

That lowers my credibility with them and means they wouldn't tell me anything ...

... it's a balancing act that became overwhelming for a time.

That's the reason I don't post on RTG, too many vultures picking away at the bones of anything with a bit of meat on.

I allow myself to get excited because it means my prostrate's fine and Mrs O is in for a great night (well for me it's great, she's usually asleep)

Oops, I thought the RAWA stuff was common knowledge.

I'd better have a check, and see if it is, before I say anything else <laugh>

You're claiming that when I said I believed FPP would take over the club I was incorrect.

Are you saying they definitely won't just to be clear, yes or no.

All I said initially was that we dont know what to believe after so many contradictory rumours and takes on it from supposedly good sources.

Smug is the one who came in and started (as always) dishing out the personal abuse. I explicitly said it wasn't a dig, it was to get people thinking this really could be another bit of duff info, so dont get too worked up either way! Confucius's excitement and likely disappointment is a good example.

I'm saying there is no evidence they will, and that Donald explicitly said they didn't make a bid for the club and he didn't think they were interested in doing so. Until we have something more concrete than rumours from second hand sources like Hetherington, I think it's still as I said a month ago, a 1% chance they do it.

As I said in the previous post, the club is a bargain as it is.

A 50k, newish stadium, modern training facilities and debt free for £40 mill? You won't get a better deal than that. If you want to own a football club that is, and I'm not sure these Americans do.

If they thought the club was over valued at £100mill, then fair enough.

    But £5-10mill?

I think I can guess your response about just being a normal poster, but you're surely not unaware of how much your words impact on posters here and elsewhere? If you keep telling people not to believe what Donald has said, and that FPP are interested in a takeover, then people listen to that and put more stall in it than even Donald himself. Sometimes, as above, you even do it in a wink nod 'that's not what I'm saying, but WINK maybe it will happen' type of way. You know and we all know what that means on here.

I don't think the 'people can choose to believe what they want' line works here. You're whipping people up into a frenzy about something that objectively has yet to show any signs of happening. The chinese whispers that have gone on about FPP wanting full control and Donald denying them this opportunity in some way, are all responsible for the way the fans groups went on over Christmas imo. They thought Donald was playing hardball, but the more that comes out, the less it seems that way.

And people get angry. They start protests, and if we get a new owner who isn't FPP, they'll pass some of that on to them, in that disgruntled 'they're better than Donald but why haven't we got FPP' type of way. When they don't spend enough, FPP will be thrown at them. And it's not fair.

I know you're posting in good faith. Nothing I've said here is a dig, it's just trying to get you to understand that you have a powerful voice whether you choose it or not. Be wise about how you use that, sometimes discretion is the better part of valour.

    On which note...

How many times do you have to repeat exactly the same thing ....

.... "let's take a step back and wait and see."

How about you do what you're telling everyone else to do ...

... or just let people make up their own minds without your relentless biased. pressure

Again, you're not unaware that your words carry more weight. You're wading in giving it the big un, talking about how many people will be unhappy you were right, about how you were told this would happen.

You've cultivated this status on here with those posts. I'm firmly aware that nobody listens to me on here, so it doesn't matter what I say. When someone that - whether they want it or not - is looked up to as ITK by other fans posts relentless confirmation of our dream scenario being almost upon us, just have a think about how people will react if that doesn't happen.

All I care about is the club. None of this pseudo-ITK ****e is helping the club to get on an even keel and 'just get on with it', because everyone is like a coiled spring expecting an imminent FPP takeover.

I'll be honest with you, anyone who believes there's any status in posting on anonymous forums has a problem.

You should really take some time to have a serious think about your life.

I don't need your censoring, thanks. I can think for myself. I'm interested to read what Smug has heard and chooses to pass on, but I take it all with a pinch of salt because, as reliable as Smug thinks his contacts are, we don't necessarily know their sources and everyone's motives.

The media called it a 'takeover' from the start. The fanzines printed SunDelland T-shirts FFS. You can't blame Smug if expectations have been blown out of proportion.

People aren't as thick as you'd like to paint them.

Some people will always choose to believe good news, it doesn't mean they'll put their life savings on it.

You've just got yersel a bit overexcited tbh.

Very disingenuous, you knew what I meant, status does not imply privilege, but people do look up to you. And no, they're not thick, they just want to believe something and you're confirming their innermost bias about the future, Like a fortune teller.
