Im not sure that anyone is suggesting the latter KM, but for someone "fully committed to selling the club" it cant be easy for him to absorb/lose that kind of money
This is my take on it as well. We all know Donald isn’t the wealthiest relatively speaking but surely nobody can believe that this loan he took out with FPP is something that he hasn’t considered the repayment structure on. It could be a good few year down the line before repayments perhaps got too much for him which would apparently give FPP the option to purchase. He’s hardly going to take out a loan he’ll have to default on within the first 12 months!
I don't know why anyone was picking up on the wording either really, I said he could absorb the current situation financially, seems like a reasonable statement and that everyone agrees.
Whatever Donald budgeted for, the losses are large in comparison to his means. If he incurs losses due to the season being voided, etc, loses some of our better players who need replacing and finds our gates down around 20,000 he'll be in trouble imo. The next transfer window could finally kill off any support he has left ... ... we could see ourselves in our third L1 season with a L1 side and a L1 manager.
We already have two of the latter, and judging by our recruitment over the last 18 months the first one is nearly guaranteed
This is not really connected to what you're on about but, IF the season was abandoned (I doubt very much it will be) and all matches are expunged from the records, from a legal standpoint, where does that leave season ticket holders? Is there a technicality that says they're still owed a full season? Or would they recognise the fact all games bar 3 had been played, even though expunged, so they've had more or less what they've paid for? With the law being very 'funny' in a lot of areas, if they ruled the season never existed and card holders are owed a season or a refund it would cripple clubs.
Could be wrong, but I think the payment is to grant you admission into the ground so it could be argued that even though the games were expunged, you still had the admission for your money.
After the lockdown is lifted there'll be a huge backlog of all kinds of legal actions. I believe the courts will look at all of the 'frivilous' cases of football fans saying 'yeah but it's just not fair' ... .... and say 'just f**k off and stop bothering me'. NB ... I believe that's the correct legal term.
I think for the sake of 3 games, you'd be hard pushed to get any money back or find anyone advising you to push it. The average ST comes in somewhere around £20 a game. It's £60 in a time when people are dying, so nah, I don't think anyone would reasonably judge a season card to have been invalid and I would be surprised if anyone who had a season card for us would be silly enough to hurt the club by doing it.
Why do you ask marra, we are all in this together and have seen the season, expunged or not, to miss 3 games isn't an issue, is it?
Purely because I'd heard it mentioned elsewhere, probably on twitter, and thought 'surely not' but you never know. I honestly would not agree with it or try to get any refund of any sort, I think too much of the club to do anything like that but I bet there's some who do try.
