With FFP coming in it wont stop clubs spending but i dont think we will see anyone do what we did last season

15M spent in 1 season at this level is absurd

I think you're right, anyone buying into a Championship club now will take a far more conservative approach, even rich foreign owners want to be seen to be responsible and crass overspending is now a thing of the past.

Mick McCarthy would be a good choice for Forest but Glenn Hoddle has been out of the game for too long now. It has been about 7-8 years since he managed at this level with Wolves, do he still know the league?

McCarthy would be good for Forest.

To get them promoted, yes. But not the 'iconic' man the new owners have said they want to appoint by any stretch of then imagination. Not the man to get the glory and silverware many of them grew up to expect. They need another Cloughie. Sadly for them, Lambert and O'Neill are both employed elsewhere, and they're the closest thing this day and age has to offer.

Forest will never get back to where they was under Clough. If you look at Forest history minus Clough there really isnt to shout about. Clough performed a miracle with them which wont happen again because with the money in the game how it is it makes sure the big clubs remain there and the smaller clubs cant compete. Unless you get major investment like Man City have no one will compete with Man U, Arsenal, Chelsea, Tottenham, Liverpool, Man City. They are the top clubs with teams like Villa, Everton, Newcastle and Leeds have the potential to compete with them but outside of them there is no other club who could sustain a challenge on the top 4 of the premiership on a consistent basis

If I was a Forest fan I'd know which of the two I'd want ... and it isn't Mick ... I don't really buy the being out of the game bit ... by definition managers are usually past their playing days but that doesn't hinder the ability to manage players ... and doesn't mean they stop watching the game or being involved in some capacity ... Hoddle was a superb player and with the right money behind him would build a very entertaining team .. Mick? ... well he will make you competitive ...

Forest dont have a team at the minute. They lost all the players because of contracts expired and they had lots of loans at the end of last season who have gone back

They still havent replaced Wes Morgan and now Lynch and Chambers have gone

The papers reckon it's going to be McCarthy and that he'll get a 20m kitty.
