Why did you need to trial him!!?

Usually when they're on trial they accept lower contract offers. Beforehand he wanted £100k a week. :)

My team is pretty good now.

Courtois
Clyne - Jedvaj - Lovren - Shaw
Schneiderlin - JWP
Ramirez - Januzaj - Rodriguez
Negredo

Sold Big Vic to Madrid for £22m to ease my financial worries. Lallana has regressed a lot because of injury but still plays often.

Vic, Morgan and JWP are three of the five CMs in my rotation (JWP also able to cover at CAM and RAM if I need him to). Shaw still starts every game, Clyne is my backup RB and I think that's it for Southampton players I've still got. Jason Dodd is still about though :)

Robbie Savage is my reserve team manager. <laugh> I left it to my assistant to appoint one!

Steven Gerrard is my head of youth development. Assistant has been Joris Mathijsen for several years now, I wanted Rickie but he wanted to be a manager so joined Dover :(

It was him or Morgan to bring in the big bucks. Sold him for 20 and Osvaldo for 16 to Juve (who took up their option) - that freed up some money to filter back into better wages, hence being able to bring in Valdes and Fernandes on frees. I'm getting prepared to bring JWP in for Morgan next season I think.....

In the new update Prowse is far better as a AM. He is already my first choice with Lallana and Rodriguez either side of him.

The new update basically mean you don't need a lb or rb for years. Sims is class.l as well.

How is everyone finding FM14? I had a major addiction to FM13, but struggled to get to grips with this one and only played about 1/2 a season before sacking it off. I really struggled to get to grips with the training which seemed to ruin the game for me.

The training is confusing to understand, but fortunately it's also mostly useless. The training calendar display is awful.

But once you figure out what's going on, there's not much strategy to it. I pretty much don't even touch it in season. Just balanced, average, or whatever vanilla everything. Off-season I might do a week of fitness and a week of teamwork if I don't forget, which I often do.

Hmm, interesting. To be fair maybe I was just blaming my poor results on my lack of understanding of the training. Can you still just set the Ass Manager to handle it?

I hardly touch the training as well. I never even bother lowering and increasing it. I have never had a problem with fitness etc, all I do do is make sure I have about 6 friendlies in pre season.

As soon as uni is finished in May I will be looking into getting it. Should be able to get it for a decent price as well

Right. Summer - exams done, time for FM. Took over Feyenoord after they finished 8th in the first season on the game under Koeman.

About to start the 2nd season as boss, but here's the round-up so far...

I tried the other day but the first couple of seasons bore me at the moment. I'll play the game religiously once I'm over the initial bump of replacing all my scouts etc but I struggle to stay with it until that point at the moment.

Nice to see Saints bought Bruno Martins Indi there.

Anyone had a defeat that was more humiliating than this one?
