I really wish they could do proper fish and chips over this way. Even the best chippies here don't compete with Yorkshire.

I once ordered fish & chips from a chippie in Salisbury. I kid you not,the fish was that reconstituted muck. What the **** is this i said ? Do you know where i'm from ? There were real tears in my eyes. The bloke serving looked frightened. I got a pizza...

Our lass has just started a vegan and gluten free diet.

Didn't stop her eating a pizza last night. Or half inching some of the mince and mash I made the other night.

They always cheat. You've got all afternoon to talk her round.

And the last couple of times we went to cave street, the chips were a bit overdone. I hope our mate's on top form today.

Cave Street is overrated.

Chazz's mate Carl is a proper miserable mo fo as well and he doesn't do beans.

Before anyone has a paddy about beans all I'll say is this;

If you don't think beans go with battered sausage, chips and a bread cake then you're not wired up right.

You're ****ing mental.

I'm off to Nu Bar for my tea, to say I'm underwhelmed is an understatement and then some.

It looks like a ponces gaff if you ask me.

I see no likes for the above post, and rightly so.

I fancy a burger or a steak.

Off on my hols tomorrow so can't get too mullered, driving to East Midlands first thing.

Do us a favour and just ask Carlos whether he does beans when you go to Cave Street later.

I know he's a big pal of yours but I bet he still looks at you like you've just laid a cable in his fryer.

It don't half wind him up.

Where you off? I'm off to Tenerife on Sunday.
I send the mrs to chippy.

We usually stop off at Johnny Haddocks in Newport on the way home from games, they do a decent pattie & I've discovered recently their mushy peas aren't too bad, spot of mint at the bottom of the pot.

Don't **** about with chippy's over this way anymore, they've got kebabs if I want to eat ****.

Thankfully they're still not as bad as southern chippies round here but I've always said that in the north, fish and chips get better as you go west to east... Liverpool < Manchester < Leeds < Hull

Very true – Manc is/was rubbish for chip shops.

There was an Irish one, The Little Chippy, in Levenshulme which wasn’t bad and The Battered Cod (Withington) was passable.

Johnny Haddocks is my local chippy, the owner Mike is a nice bloke, even if he is a Donny fan.
