"along with a higher amount of racially aggravated arrests inside their ground than LFC..."
Reminds me, tucked away in a miniscule corner of the Observer on Sunday was a brief correction re the racism claim in the Oldham game. As was fleetingly reported in some national papers back in March (blink and you missed it), the case was dropped four months ago as, in the words of the CPS, what little evidence there was supported the accused man's claim that he had indeed used the phrase "Manc bast@rd", and not what the player thought he said. Yet only last week, the Observer (from the same stable as the Guardian, 'natch), were still regurgitating the story that an oldham player had been racially abused at Anfield in January.
You won't be surprised to learn that the correction was nowhere near the size or profile as the original slur the week before, let alone the hysteria by all papers back in January when the incident occurred.
