As usual some negative sod on the comments section in the HDM disparaging it and asking if any top clubs do similar. There are numerous. Although my favourite link up would be Spurs with Leuven. Home of the Stella Artois brewery whose beer bears no relation to the gassy, chemically laden, brewed under licence here crap which bears its name.

It’s just as **** there and nobody drinks it

On the one hand, things like this would, you would think, raise the standard of the football in Ireland and help improve the game. The sport should be much bigger than it is given it’s still hugely popular over there, suffering because they're all cock smokers supporting Liverpool, Man U or Celtic.

On the other you run the risk of turning a legitimate competition effectively into a secondary almost reserve league and deteriorating the interest even further. There is a fine balance to strike in sending young players over and taking the best players from there without taking things too far.

I do think club owners should only be able to own one club, at least within the same continental body, but appreciate that would likely be impossible to police.

It is a good drink there. Drunk by working class types not posers in Belgium. They make a lot of money from selling something nobody drinks,

There is very little difference, you’d have to have a burton brewed and a belgium brewed next to each other to tell, and the likelihood is, the burton brewed one would probably be better if either.

What a load of ****e. Stella in Belgium is not full of chemicals and additives to speed up the process making it yet another gassy, fizzy concoction.,Virtually every foreign beer sold here is brewed under licence and is inferior to the proper one.

It's by far the biggest selling Belgian beer in the world, but Amin's right, it's not all that popular in Belgium.

There is such a diversity of beers in Belgium there is no overwhelmingly popular one. Wish we had the choice and quality of their beers here.

I don’t think it is here either. But it is brewed using Burton water, which is the best water in the world for light beers.

I hope it doesnt end up making dundalk worse
In anyway

Ofcourse it's good if it benefits city but not if its to the detriment of another club, hate all this multiple owner bullshit, football clubs should be hearts of its local community

The Dundalk fans are not at all happy about Rosies recent comments on the subject. Ringing all sorts of alarm bells for them when he talks about both teams having to play the same way.

Acun might have to go full on charm offensive on them if it goes through.

It is a completely different. Belgian beers use different yeasts and methods. Belgian beers have a fragrance about them and are smooth. Drink the Stella brewed here and it bites your throat if you drink it quickly.
When I lived off Princes Avenue a French restaurant opened up opposite Pierre Luigi’s. That made 3 places you could get a drink along with Chaplin’s. Thought I would give it a try. There was Stella advertised. You didn’t see the fizzy pop version everywhere then. I ordered a pint and said to the waiter it was spot on. He said the owner brought it in from Belgium. Went a few times then one time no Stella. The waiter said he was having problems getting it. He laughed and said the owner had said he was coming to the conclusion a lot of people were coming in more for the beer than his cooking given the comments about its absence and asking when it would be back on. The food was very good to be fair.

Cityzen is unaware of any breweries apparently

Another stupid statement, Far more choice of beers in Belgium than here. This is a country where some people think Carling is a good beer FFS.

Reports say the owner of Dundalk says there is no truth in the reports. TWT.
