Former World of Sport presenter Dickie Davies dies at the age of 94 as tributes pour in for the legendary broadcaster on social media after ex-colleague Jim Rosenthal confirmed his passing
- Davies was best known for his 17-year presenting stint on the hit ITV sports show
- He also covered the 1988 Seoul Olympics with ITV before leaving for Eurosport
- The broadcast icon later fronted his Dickie Davies' Sporting Heroes programme
Another one of those ever present characters I grew up with gone.
Always said I don't so much mind getting older myself. It's seeing those around me getting old and passing that bothers me.

Someone else who appeared in some all time great shows amongst a lot of other things passed away this week. Richard Belzer, who played Munch in the brilliant Homicide: LifeOn The Street and Law And Order and Law And Order:Special Victims Unit, aged 78.
