research it.. i really can't be arsed tbf .. but know ours wasn't the only game that got called off

You need to research it. You appear to have no idea about it. Our game wasn't called off, we won 1-0. 10 clubs were going to have crowds in. Luton decided themselves not to go ahead with allowing people in. Of the remaining 9 ours was the only one where the council said no. No one can give any reason and supply figures as to why this was.

Luton called it off themselves. Don't know who decided that fans were not going into Cambridge, the council or the club. That is one possible other one where the council said no, in a lot smaller ground than ours. That is not a number of clubs as you stated.

‘It is with regret that Cambridge United have had to cancel Saturday's pilot event with fans at the Abbey Stadium following the change in Government guidance yesterday and after consultation with public health authorities’.

Luton and Cambridge.
But were they called off ?. Luton chucked the towel in themselves. Take your word about Cambridge but I thought they decided very early on not to take part because of the work and cost involved in such a short time scale ?
The other eight clubs made a real effort to get the games on and only in Hull was the carpet pulled from under them by the local authorities.

Take my word? That was the club statement you daft twat. <doh>

Good for you but the **** is about to hit the fan for me and many others , so far the furlough scheme has done
a decent job but it's about to end

I’m aware of that & hope you & others come out the other side unscathed.

My point wasn’t to gloat it was to dispel the idiocy behind the false statement that “only those in the public sector are safe”

Especially when many tens of thousands of public sector workers have lost their livelihoods over the last 10 years

There will undoubtedly by public sector jobs lost in this area due to Covid
Councils are spending more than they’re getting in right now and that will get worse as others lose jobs and council tax income, and business rates, reduces.
Worrying times for everyone.
