Paul Lighthouse, Sandy Beach, Tom Watson ( always answered by Mr. S Holmes) quite recently Arthur Keegan......those were the days.
The one from a M Fish of North Ferriby which was the lead letter in the Yorkshire Sport was a classic. Highlighting all the clubs Terry Dolan had been employed by and their following relegations. Fish threatened legal action over that one.
Someone once told me that a T Dolan had applied for the mangers job at North Ferriby, and they were not sure if it was a spoof or not ( it was) 'I am perfect for the role as I live locally.....'
The Golden era of fanzines and the printed word........

D R Watson agreeing with the previous week's letter from S Holmes was another good 'un.

HH@H was the work of Withernsea based City fans Andy Medcalf, Richard Lusmore and Gary Hook. They also branched out with 'Last Train from Boothferry Halt', 'From Hull to Eternity' and were behind a host of others.

Correct.

On Cloud Seven was a Paul Cockerton publication featuring the hilarious and never mentioned in the local media, Tubby Lard of the Boulevard.

Incorrect. Paul edited a different fanzine. I now have the website www.oncloudseven.com

Lesser known but worthy of a mention is Tiger Eye, the fanzine/newsletter of the Southern Tigers, edited by Chris Douglas.

That's going back a few years now. Chris now lives in Hull and Tigers Eye is edited by a Southern based supporter Andy Clark.

In the back end if the boothferry park era, I was in three tunns with some friends reading through either city independent or amber nectar and came across an article written by a bloke who invaded the pitch in the Dolan era and ripped up his season pass in front of the dug out. In the article, he said that he singled out the weediest steward in south stand and ran past him when he wasn't looking. That steward was me. Oddly whilst reading the article, I happened to look up to see that I was stood right next to the author of the article - I knew it because I remember seeing the whites of his eyes flash past me at pace when I was stood picking my nose and bored out my skull at the pitch side.
Never bough the stupid mag again- just in case there were any more embarrassing revelations about my stewarding days.

Three Tunes - I like it.

Although we do the editorial, the printer does the design and he made a couple of errors even after we asked them to be changed he missed them. These things happen, after the printed copies had arrived we spoke with Ryan about it before sending. He saw the funny side.
But heres the thing PLT, find as many errors as you like, it does not stop it being a good read and an improvement on what was being published. I can live with a couple of errors.
We hope to move into inhouse design soon.

It may well be a good read. I had no more than a quick flick through and that jumped out at me. Was expecting to find some "everything's brilliant, stop moaning" rhetoric in there.

PLT the only person who would publish that sort of thing is long gone. If you look at issue 41 there is a perfect example of why supporters mistrust the OSC in one or two of the articles. Hopefully we will develop Tigermag further with a new design. we have a new web site now as well.

'Hull, Hell & Happiness' came out for the League Cup tie v Arsenal in September 1988. Andy Medcalf & Ian Websdale were the first editors, with me and then Gary Hook co-opted on. I can still see that first "working lunch" when my gaffer came into find 200 sheets of amber paper with a pic of Jasper Carrott in full City kit dropping into the out-tray of the office photocopier. The whole fanzine operation was almost stopped in its tracks before we'd even got going!
'OC7' appeared later that same season I believe, before in the summer of 1990 Gary & I launched 'From Hull To Eternity' - a mag remembered as much for those legendary 'hu ll' t-shirts (ripped-off from the 'James' band version) as for what we wrote. In fact the t-shirt operation became bigger than the fanzine - anyone remember those 'Waggy', 'Carter USM', 'Going down With The Tigers' versions?
In 1992 we joined up with the 'HH&H' crew again under the umbrella 'Blind Faith 92' and produced 'Look Back In Amber'. Gary was also responsible for a one-off 'Last Train To Boothferry Halt', some of the other lads did a weird and wonderful 'Fearful Symmetry' offshoot and finally from the original 'HH&H' lineage came 'Tiger Rag'. Then it was time to make way for the new kids on the block...
It's all in the book...when someone comes up with the cash for me to get it published :emoticon-0116-evilg
