As i just said, I doubt any of what we have been told is the entire picture. It is almost certain that trouble was caused and there was misbehaviour from both sides. The key thing is I havent dismissed one side of the account while accepting the other based on nothing more than an anti view of one nationality.

I said claim was the operative word. Maybe the subtleties and nuances of English are a bit complex for you?

Did they only arm themselves with hammers, and wide belts which weren't for holding their trousers up, as although they were peacefully walking along to the match the lack of police about concerned them?

People are quick to point out the stabbings are done by a very small group of extreme supporters, known in Italy as "ultras". Most clubs have such fans, but "puncicate" is almost exclusively done in Rome and by followers of local team Roma, say experts.

Thanks for that <laugh>

Botty -stabbing?

Who knew?

None of which changes the fact that Humberside's finest did exactly what they should do, they reviewed CCTV inside the ground, got images of those responsible for causing damage and published them so they could be identified, which they all were (thanks to the local rag in east London). The Met were then responsible for making the arrests and couldn't be arsed.

A bit like Humberside Police can't be arsed about a lot if things. Unless they are football related of course.

I mean, I’ve only been paid to write English professionally for over 20 years...

And I don’t understand your point. I’ve never disputed some Roma fans were intent on trouble.

There are journalists who don't understand the subtleties and nuances of the English language nowadays.<laugh>

A bit remiss of Liverpool shopkeepers to sell them hammers and belts. Maybe they should be blamed.

I can see some major trouble tomorrow night out in Rome.

I fear someone is going to get seriously hurt or worse.

No need to worry the Rome police have guaranteed fan's safety as long as they observe the rules.

Rule 1. Don't come to Rome.
